Some time later Joseph was told,“ Your father is ill.” So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim along with him.

约瑟在埃及地生了玛拿西和以法莲，就是安城的祭司波提非拉的女儿亚西纳给约瑟生的。

愿你得见你儿女的儿女。愿平安归于以色列。

在荒年还没有来到以前，约瑟生了两个儿子，是安城的祭司波提非拉的女儿亚西纳给约瑟生的。约瑟给长子起名叫玛拿西，因为他说：“神使我忘记我所有的困苦，以及我父的全家。”他给次子起名叫以法莲，因为他说：“神使我在受苦之地繁盛起来。”

约瑟见到以法莲的第三代子孙；玛拿西的儿子玛吉的众子，也归在约瑟的膝下。

姊妹二人派人到耶稣那里去，说：“主啊，你所爱的人病了。”
