約瑟照著法老的吩咐讓他的父親和兄弟們安置下來，又把埃及地最好的地方，就是蘭塞境內的地，給他們作產業。

你看見過做事老練的人嗎？他必站立在君王面前，而不會站立在低微的人面前。

他們又對法老說：「我們來是要在這地寄居，因為迦南地的饑荒嚴重，你僕人們的羊群沒有草場了；現在求你容許僕人們住在歌珊地。」

這樣，你們可以與我們一起居住；這地就在你們面前，住在這裡做買賣，置產業吧！」

正如你賜給他權柄管轄所有的人，好讓他把永恆的生命給與一切你所賜給他的人。

全地不都在你面前嗎？請你與我分開吧。如果你向左，我就向右；如果你向右，我就向左。」

那天，掃羅的臣僕中有一個人也在那裡，被留在耶和華面前，名叫多益，是以東人，他是掃羅的畜牧長。

亞比米勒說：「看哪，我的地都在你面前，你看哪裡好，就住哪裡吧！」

帶上你們的父親和你們的家人，到我這裡來；我要把埃及地的美物賜給你們，你們也要吃這地上最好的。』現在你要受命去說：『當這樣做：從埃及地帶上車輛，給你們的孩子和妻子坐，並且帶著你們的父親一起來。你們的眼目不要顧惜你們的家什，因為埃及全地的美物都是你們的。』」

約瑟說：「如果銀子用完了，可以把你們的牲畜帶來。我就給你們糧食，來換你們的牲畜。」

王的心在耶和華的手中，就像河渠的水：耶和華可以任意使它流轉。
