後來到了住宿的地方，我們打開袋子，看哪，各人的銀子還在自己的袋口上，銀子的分量一點不少。現在我們親手把它帶回來，我們手裏又帶了另外的銀子來買糧食。我們不知道是誰把銀子放在我們袋裏的。」

那不可姦淫，不可殺人，不可偷盜，不可貪婪，或別的誡命，都包括在「愛鄰如己」這一句話之內了。

後來他們倒空袋子，看哪，各人的銀囊都在袋子裏。他們和父親看見銀囊就都害怕。

「『不可偷盜。

因為凡遵守全部律法的，只違背了一條就是違犯了所有的律法。原來那說「不可姦淫」的，也說「不可殺人」。你就是不姦淫，卻殺人，也是成為違犯律法的。

手裏要帶雙倍的銀子，把退還在你們袋口的銀子親手帶回去；或許那是個失誤。

他說：「哪些誡命？」耶穌說：「就是不可殺人；不可姦淫；不可偷盜；不可作假見證；

「不可偷盜。

他們對他說：「我主為甚麼說這樣的話呢？你僕人們絕不會做這樣的事。

到了住宿的地方，有一個人打開袋子，要拿飼料餵驢，就看見自己的銀子，看哪，仍在袋口上。

他們彼此說：「我們在弟弟身上實在犯了罪。他哀求我們的時候，我們看見他的痛苦，卻不肯聽，所以這場苦難臨到我們。」
