When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house,“ Bring the men into the house, and slaughter an animal and make ready, for the men are to dine with me at noon.”

When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house,“ Take these men to my house, slaughter an animal and prepare a meal; they are to eat with me at noon.”

Then he commanded the steward of his house,“ Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack,

So they went up to the steward of Joseph’s house and spoke with him at the door of the house,

So he made them a feast, and they ate and drank.

She has slaughtered her beasts; she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table.

and Jacob offered a sacrifice in the hill country and called his kinsmen to eat bread. They ate bread and spent the night in the hill country.

Shall I take my bread and my water and my meat that I have killed for my shearers and give it to men who come from I do not know where?”

So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had, in house and field.

And Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his household, who had charge of all that he had,“ Put your hand under my thigh,that I may make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell,but will go to my country and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”The servant said to him,“ Perhaps the woman may not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I then take your son back to the land from which you came?”Abraham said to him,“ See to it that you do not take my son back there.The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my kindred, and who spoke to me and swore to me,‘ To your offspring I will give this land,’ he will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.But if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be free from this oath of mine; only you must not take my son back there.”So the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master and swore to him concerning this matter.Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed, taking all sorts of choice gifts from his master; and he arose and went to Mesopotamia to the city of Nahor.

But Abram said,“ O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

They had gone only a short distance from the city. Now Joseph said to his steward,“ Up, follow after the men, and when you overtake them, say to them,‘ Why have you repaid evil for good?

And the child grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
