雅各見埃及有穀子，就對兒子們說：『你們為甚麼彼此觀望呢？』他說：『𠺶，我聽說在埃及有穀子；你們下那裏去，從那裏給我們買，我們就可以活着，免得死。』

給他父親的是照以下這麼送的：驢十匹、載着埃及的美物，母驢十匹、載着麥子、餅、和喫的東西，要給他父親在路上用。

首領惱怒耶利米，打了他，將他下在監裏、就是祕書約拿單的屋子，因為他們拿這屋子當作監獄。
