亚略就急忙把但以理带到王面前，对王这样说：“我在被掳的犹大人中找到一个能把梦的意思向王说明的人。”

并且安慰他，使他的地位高过和他一起在巴比伦的众王。又换下他的囚衣，赐他终生常在王面前吃饭。

为锡安悲哀的人穿上装饰，赐给他们华冠代替灰尘，喜乐油代替悲哀，赞美衣代替沮丧的灵，他们必称为公义的橡树，是耶和华栽种的，好使他自己得着荣耀。

第三天，以斯帖穿上朝服，站在王宫的内院，对着王殿；王在殿里坐在王位上，对着殿门。

扫罗的孙子米非波设也下去迎接王。他自从王出走那天，直到王平平安安回来的日子，都没有修脚，没有刮胡子，也没有洗衣服。

末底改知道了发生的一切事，就撕裂自己的衣服，披上麻衣，撒上灰尘，出到城中，大声痛哭地呼叫。他到了御门前，就停住，因为身穿麻衣的，不可以进御门。王的谕旨和命令传到的各省各地，犹大人都大大悲哀，禁食、哭泣、悲伤；许多人披上麻衣，躺在灰尘中。以斯帖的婢女和太监把这事告诉以斯帖，王后就非常惊慌，就派人送衣服给末底改穿着，要他脱下麻衣，他却不接受。

于是，法老急忙把摩西和亚伦召了来，说：“我得罪了耶和华你们的神，也得罪了你们。

我因耶和华大大欢喜，我的心靠着我的神快乐，因为他给我穿上救恩的衣服，给我披上公义的外袍，好像新郎戴上华冠，又像新娘佩戴装饰。
