我作了一個夢，這夢使我懼怕；我在床上所見的夢幻和我腦海中出現的異象，都使我驚惶。

到了早晨，法老心裡煩亂，就派人去把埃及所有的術士和智慧人都召了來；法老把自己的夢告訴他們，但是沒有人能替法老解夢。

就臉色大變，心意驚惶，兩腳無力，雙膝彼此相碰。

尼布甲尼撒在位第二年，他作了夢，因此心裡煩亂，不能入睡。於是王吩咐人把術士、用法術的、行邪術的和迦勒底人都召來，要他們把王的夢告訴王。他們來了，站在王面前。王對他們說：“我作了一個夢，心裡煩亂，我要知道這是甚麼夢。”

他們回答他：“我們各人作了一個夢，但沒有人能夠解釋。”約瑟對他們說：“解夢不是出於神嗎？請把夢告訴我吧。”

我但以理精疲力竭，病了幾天，後來我起來，辦理王的事務，但我仍因這異象驚駭不已，不明白它的意思。

這事到此完畢。我但以理心中十分驚惶，臉色也變了，但我把這事存放在心裡。”
