When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

When you farm the land, it will not produce its crops for you anymore. You will be a restless person who wanders around on the earth.”

When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield to you its strength. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”

No longer will the ground yield good crops for you, no matter how hard you work! From now on you will be a homeless wanderer on the earth.”

至於你們剩下的人呢、他們在仇敵之地時、我必使怯懦餒弱之氣進他們的心；飄蕩落葉的響聲也會追趕他們；他們必逃跑、像人逃避刀劍；沒有人追趕，他們也跌倒。

你頭上的天必變為銅，你腳下的地必變為鐵。永恆主必將飛塵沙土代替你地上所需要的雨水；塵土必從天上下到你身上，直到你消滅。

你們必白白用盡力氣，你們的地也不出土產，地上的樹木也不結果子。

我的上帝必棄絕他們，因為他們不聽從他；他們必成了流離飄蕩於列國中的。

願他的兒女漂流討飯，從他們的荒屋裏被趕出。

你看，你今日趕逐我離開這地，叫我自己躲藏，不得見你的面，我就會流離飄蕩於地上；那麼凡遇見我的就會殺我了。』

對亞當永恆主上帝則說：『你既聽了你妻子的話，喫那樹上的果子，就是我吩咐你說：「不可喫」的，那麼土地就必因你的緣故而受咒詛；儘你一生的日子你必勞苦，才能從土地得喫的；土地必給你長出荊棘和蒺藜來；你也必喫田間的菜蔬；

在這些國中、你不能得安然，也沒有給你腳掌停息的地方；永恆主卻要使你在那裏心中發顫，眼目失明，精神消損。你的性命在你面前懸而無定；你晝夜恐懼，對自己的性命、都不敢自信。

第二天巴施戶珥將耶利米從枷架上放出來，於是耶利米對他說：『永恆主不把你的名叫巴施戶珥，乃叫做四圍恐怖。因為永恆主這麼說：看吧，我必使你和一切友愛你的人都覺得恐怖；他們必倒斃在他們的仇敵刀下，你必親眼看見。我必將猶大人全交在巴比倫王手中；他必使他們流亡到巴比倫去，用刀擊殺他們。

被創造之物服在徒勞挫折之下、不是自願的，乃是因那叫它服在指望中者的旨意；
