And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter- in- law hath played the harlot; and moreover, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

About three months later Judah was told,“ Your daughter-in-law Tamar is guilty of prostitution, and as a result she is now pregnant.” Judah said,“ Bring her out and have her burned to death!”

About three months later people brought word to Judah. They said,“ Your daughter- in- law Tamar is guilty of being a prostitute. Now she’s pregnant.” Judah said,“ Bring her out! Have her burned to death!”

About three months later Judah was told,“ Tamar your daughter-in-law has been immoral. Moreover, she is pregnant by immorality.” And Judah said,“ Bring her out, and let her be burned.”

About three months later, Judah was told,“ Tamar, your daughter in law, has acted like a prostitute. And now, because of this, she’s pregnant.”“ Bring her out, and let her be burned!” Judah demanded.

About three months later Judah was told,“ Your daughter-in-law, Tamar, has been acting like a prostitute, and now she is pregnant.”“ Bring her out,” Judah said,“ and let her be burned to death!”

Now it was about three months later that Judah was informed,“ Your daughter in law Tamar has prostituted herself, and behold, she is also pregnant by prostitution.” Then Judah said,“ Bring her out and have her burned!”

And it came to pass, about three months after, that Judah was told, saying,“ Tamar your daughter-in-law has played the harlot; furthermore she is with child by harlotry.” So Judah said,“ Bring her out and let her be burned!”

About three months later Judah was told,“ Your daughter-in-law, Tamar, has been acting like a prostitute, and now she is pregnant.”“ Bring her out!” Judah said.“ Let her be burned to death!”

And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she[ is] with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

After three months Judah was told,“ Your daughter-in-law Tamar has turned to prostitution, and as a result she has become pregnant.” Judah said,“ Bring her out and let her be burned!”

About three months later, Judah was told,“ Tamar, your daughter- in- law, has played the prostitute. Moreover, behold, she is with child by prostitution.” Judah said,“ Bring her out, and let her be burned.”

And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

And his concubine played the harlot against him, and went away from him unto her father’s house to Beth- lehem- judah, and was there the space of four months.

The faith which thou hast, have thou to thyself before God. Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth.

And they shall burn thy houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women; and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou shalt also give no hire any more.

And I saw, when, for this very cause that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a bill of divorcement, yet treacherous Judah her sister feared not; but she also went and played the harlot.

And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the harlot in her father’s house: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away the evil from Israel.If there be a damsel that is a virgin betrothed unto a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them to death with stones; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbor’s wife: so thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.But if the man find the damsel that is betrothed in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her; then the man only that lay with her shall die:but unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbor, and slayeth him, even so is this matter;for he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

Moreover Jehovah said unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, will he return unto her again? will not that land be greatly polluted? But thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith Jehovah.

But thou didst trust in thy beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy whoredoms on every one that passed by; his it was.

And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with a harlot?

And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

and of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captives of Judah that are in Babylon, saying, Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;because they have wrought folly in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives, and have spoken words in my name falsely, which I commanded them not; and I am he that knoweth, and am witness, saith Jehovah.

And Oholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbors,

But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, because of the woman whom thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.

Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, remembering the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

Now therefore restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

Thou hast played the harlot also with the Assyrians, because thou wast insatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet thou wast not satisfied.

The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

for their mother hath played the harlot; she that conceived them hath done shamefully; for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things.And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.

Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth- aven, nor swear, As Jehovah liveth.

And David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As Jehovah liveth, the man that hath done this is worthy to die:

Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and wherein have I sinned against thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.

For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bonds; and thou saidst, I will not serve; for upon every high hill and under every green tree thou didst bow thyself, playing the harlot.

And they went in unto her, as they go in unto a harlot: so went they in unto Oholah and unto Oholibah, the lewd women.

and I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be any man’s wife: so will I also be toward thee.

Judge not, that ye be not judged.For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

And I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
