在我患难的日子里，我求问主，夜间我的手伸着祈求，也不倦怠；我的灵魂不肯受安慰。

我们对他说：‘我们是诚实人，不是奸细。

以色列说：“好，我的儿子约瑟还活着！在我死之前，我要去见他。”

以色列在那地居住的时候，鲁本去与他父亲的小妾碧荷同睡；以色列也听到了这事。雅各有十二个儿子：莉亚的儿子是雅各的长子鲁本，还有西缅、利未、犹大、以萨迦和西布伦。瑞秋的儿子是约瑟和本雅明。瑞秋的婢女碧荷的儿子是但和拿弗他利。莉亚的婢女悉帕的儿子是迦得和亚设。以上是雅各的儿子，是他在巴旦-亚兰生的。

如果你们再把这个从我面前带走，要是有灾祸临到他，你们就使白发苍苍的我悲悲惨惨地下阴间去了。’“现在如果我回到你仆人我父亲那里，而那少年没有与我们在一起，既然我父亲的命与那少年的命相连，我父亲见那少年不在了，就必会死。这样，你仆人们就使你仆人我们的父亲，一个白发苍苍的老人，悲悲惨惨地下阴间去了。

拉班回应雅各，说：“女儿们都是我的女儿，孩子们都是我的孩子，羊群也是我的羊群，你所看见的一切都是我的。我今日能为我的女儿们和她们所生的孩子做些什么呢？
