Then come, let us go up to Bethel, where I will build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone.”

Come, let’s go up to Bethel. There I’ll build an altar to honor God. He answered me when I was in trouble. He’s been with me everywhere I’ve gone.”

Then let us arise and go up to Bethel, so that I may make there an altar to the God who answers me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.”

And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

When thou passest through the waters, I[ will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that[ was] with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands;

Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked[ thee] yesternight.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

And, behold, I[ am] with thee, and will keep thee in all[ places] whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done[ that] which I have spoken to thee of.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble,[ and] he delivered them out of their distresses.

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice[ and] my supplications.Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon[ him] as long as I live.

I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I[ am] the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

God[ is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

O LORD, truly I[ am] thy servant; I[ am] thy servant,[ and] the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:And this stone, which I have set[ for] a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me,[ bless] his holy name.Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;Who satisfieth thy mouth with good[ things; so that] thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Oh that[ men] would praise the LORD[ for] his goodness, and[ for] his wonderful works to the children of men!

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I[ will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them,[ and] I will praise the LORD:This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.The stone[ which] the builders refused is become the head[ stone] of the corner.
