以掃又問：“我遇見的這一群牲畜，是甚麼意思呢？”雅各回答：“是要討我主喜悅的。”

以扫说：“我所遇见的这些群畜是什么意思呢？”雅各说：“是要在我主面前蒙恩的。”

以扫说：“我所遇见的这些畜群是什么意思呢？”雅各说：“是为了要在我主眼前蒙恩。”

以扫说：“我所遇见的这些畜群是什么意思呢？”雅各说：“是为了要在我主眼前蒙恩。”

以扫说：“我在路上遇见的那一群群牲畜是怎么回事？”雅各回答说：“我带来这些是要得到我主的恩待。”

以扫又问：“我遇见的这一群牲畜，是什么意思呢？”雅各回答：“是要讨我主喜悦的。”

以扫说：“我所遇见的这一整队，是什么意思呢？”雅各说：“是为了在我主眼前蒙恩。”

以掃說：「我所遇見的這些羣畜是甚麼意思呢？」雅各說：「是要在我主面前蒙恩的。」

以掃說：「我所遇見的這些畜羣是甚麼意思呢？」雅各說：「是為了要在我主眼前蒙恩。」

以掃說：「我所遇見的這些畜羣是甚麼意思呢？」雅各說：「是為了要在我主眼前蒙恩。」

以掃說：「我在路上遇見的那一群群牲畜是怎麼回事？」雅各回答說：「我帶來這些是要得到我主的恩待。」

以掃說：『我所遇見的這一整隊的牲畜，是甚麼意思啊？』雅各說：『是要求我主賞臉的。』

以掃說：「我所遇見的這一整隊，是什麼意思呢？」雅各說：「是為了在我主眼前蒙恩。」

以掃曰、我所遇之羣畜何意、曰、望沾恩於主、

以掃曰、適見群畜、不知何意。曰、望沾恩於主。

以掃曰、我所遇之群畜、爾何意、曰、欲蒙我主之恩、奉於我主、原文作欲獲恩於主前

Esau asked,“ What’s the meaning of all these flocks and herds I met?”“ To find favor in your eyes, my lord,” he said.

Esau asked,“ Why did you send all those herds I saw?”“ I hoped I could do something to please you,” Jacob replied.

Esau said,“ What do you mean by all this company that I met?” Jacob answered,“ To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

“ And what were all the flocks and herds I met as I came?” Esau asked. Jacob replied,“ They are a gift, my lord, to ensure your friendship.”

So Esau said,“ What do you mean by this whole procession I met?”“ To find favor with you, my lord,” he answered.

And he said,“ What do you mean by all this company which I have met?” And he said,“ To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Then Esau said,“ What do you mean by all this company which I met?” And he said,“ These are to find favor in the sight of my Lord.”

And he said, What meanest thou by all this company which I met? And he said, To find favor in the sight of my lord.

So Esau said,“ What do you mean by this whole procession I met?”“ To find favor with you, my lord,” he answered.

And he said, What[ meanest] thou by all this drove which I met? And he said,[ These are] to find grace in the sight of my lord.

Esau then asked,“ What did you intend by sending all these herds to meet me?” Jacob replied,“ To find favor in your sight, my lord.”

Esau said,“ What do you mean by all this company which I met?” Jacob said,“ To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

我擁有牛、驢、羊群、僕婢，現在派人來報告我主，希望得到你的歡心。’”

王愛以斯帖超過所有其他的女子；在所有的處女中，她在王的面前，最得王的恩寵與喜愛；王把王后的冠冕戴在她頭上，立她為王后，代替瓦實提。

自從主人指派約瑟管理他的家，和他所有的一切，耶和華就因約瑟的緣故，賜福給那埃及人的家。他家裡和田間所有的一切，都蒙耶和華賜福。

那天晚上，雅各在那裡過夜。然後從他所擁有的牲畜中，取出一部分，作為給他哥哥以掃的禮物，就是母山羊二百隻、公山羊二十隻、母綿羊二百隻、公綿羊二十隻、哺乳的母駱駝三十匹，各帶著駒子，母牛四十頭、公牛十頭、母驢二十頭、公驢十頭。雅各把這些分成一隊一隊，交在僕人的手裡，又對僕人說：“你們先過去，每隊之間要留一段距離。”他又吩咐走在最前的僕人說：“我哥哥以掃遇見你的時候，如果問你：‘你的主人是誰？你要到哪裡去？在你前面的這些牲畜是誰的？’你就要回答：‘是你僕人雅各的，是送給我主以掃的禮物，他自己也在我們後面。’”他又吩咐第二個、第三個和所有跟在隊伍後面的人說：“你們遇見以掃的時候，都要這樣對他說。你們還要說：‘你的僕人雅各在我們後面。’”因為他心裡想：“我先送禮物去，藉此與他和解，然後再與他見面，或者他會原諒我﹙“他會原諒我”或譯：“他會接納我”﹚。”
