以撒娶利伯加為妻的時候、正四十歲。利伯加是巴旦亞蘭的亞蘭人彼土利的女兒，是亞蘭人拉班的妹妹。

於是到了撒瑪利亞的一座城叫敘加，鄰近雅各給他兒子約瑟的那塊園地；

你起身往巴旦亞蘭去，到你外祖彼土利家裏，從那裏娶你母舅拉班的女兒為妻。

以掃見以撒已經給雅各祝福，又打發他往巴旦亞蘭去、從那裏娶妻，並且給他祝福時吩咐他說：『不要娶迦南的女子為妻』；又見雅各聽從了他父親和母親，往巴旦亞蘭去了；

雅各從巴旦亞蘭回來，上帝又向他顯現，給他祝福，

這些人是利亞在巴旦亞蘭給雅各生的兒子，還有他的女兒底拿；孫子孫女一共三十三個人。

約翰在靠近撒冷的哀嫩也施行着洗禮，因為那裏水多，人都去受洗禮；（
