if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Because God wanted to show His unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath,

God said,“ I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also bring you back. Joseph will put his hands on your eyes.”

God is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes His mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?

I will indeed bless you and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gates of their enemies.
