只是分辨善惡樹上的果實，你不可吃，因為在吃的日子，你必定死。」

他反對一切被稱為神的，或受人敬拜的，他又高抬自己在這一切之上，甚至坐在神的聖所裡宣稱自己是神。

藉著那些奇蹟，就是牠被准許在第一隻獸面前所行的奇蹟，牠就迷惑了住在地上的人，告訴住在地上的人，要為那受刀傷卻活過來的獸，造一個像。

他們膜拜龍，因為牠把權柄交給了獸。他們也膜拜獸，說：「誰能與這獸相比呢？誰能與牠交戰呢？」

我要升到雲端之上，我要使自己與至高者相比。』

對於他們，這世代的神把這些不信之人的心眼弄瞎了，使他們不能洞察基督榮耀的福音之光。基督就是神的形像。

如果你的眼睛汙濁，你的全身就黑暗。因此，光如果在你裡面成了黑暗，那是多麼大的黑暗！

國中所有的總督察、總長、行政官、謀士和省長一同商議，要請王設立一條法規，強制執行一條禁令：王啊，三十天之內，無論何人，如果向你以外的任何神明或任何人祈禱，就必被扔進獅子坑！

因為這樣的人是假使徒，是詭詐的工人，他們裝做基督的使徒。這並不足為奇，原來撒旦自己也裝做光明的天使；所以，即使他的僕人把自己裝做義的僕人，也不足為怪；他們的結局必然照著他們的行為。

他們說：「我們要靠舌頭強盛，我們的嘴唇是自己的，誰是我們的主呢？」

耶和華神說：「看哪，那人已經與我們相似，知道善惡；現在恐怕他又伸出手，取生命樹的果實來吃，那樣他就會永遠活著。」

民眾一直喊叫：「這是神的聲音，不是人的聲音。」主的一位天使立刻擊打希律，因為他沒有把榮耀歸給神。他被蟲咬蝕，就斷了氣。

那人說：「我在園子裡聽見你的聲音就害怕，因為我是赤身的；於是我躲藏了。」

可是我擔心，恐怕你們的思想受到敗壞，離開對基督的忠實和貞潔，就像蛇用牠的詭計欺騙了夏娃那樣。

為了開啟他們的眼睛，使他們從黑暗歸向光明，從撒旦的權勢下歸向神，使他們因著信我，罪得赦免，並且與那些被分別為聖的人同得繼業。』

於是他們兩人的眼睛開了，知道自己是赤身的，就把無花果樹的葉子縫合起來，為自己做了腰上的遮蓋。

開口說：「這大巴比倫，難道不是我以自己的權能力量建為國都，為要顯出我威嚴的尊榮嗎？」
