于是以撒打发雅各前往巴旦-亚兰，到亚兰人彼土利的儿子拉班那里。拉班是雅各和以扫的母亲莉白加的哥哥。以扫看见以撒祝福了雅各，又打发他去巴旦-亚兰那里娶妻；并见以撒祝福雅各时，吩咐他说：“你不要从迦南的女子中娶妻”；又见雅各听从了父母的话，往巴旦-亚兰去了；

我快快遵守你的诫命，不会犹豫。

这些事以后，有人告诉亚伯拉罕说：“看哪，美尔迦为你兄弟拿鹤生了儿子：长子是乌斯，他的弟弟是布斯和亚兰的父亲基牧利，还有基薛、哈琐、皮珥达、益拉和彼土利。”彼土利生了莉白加。美尔迦为亚伯拉罕的兄弟拿鹤生了这八个儿子。

去吧！欢欢喜喜地吃你的饭，心中快乐地喝你的酒；因为神已经悦纳你所做的。

那仆人从他主人的骆驼群中取来十匹骆驼，拿着他主人的各样美物就出发了；他起身往美索不达米亚，去拿鹤的城。

我要在你诫命之路上奔跑，因为你使我的心舒畅！

以撒娶莉白加为妻的时候正四十岁；莉白加是巴旦-亚兰地的亚兰人彼土利的女儿，是亚兰人拉班的妹妹。
