以撒四十歲時娶利百加為妻。利百加是巴旦‧亞蘭地的亞蘭人彼土利的女兒，是亞蘭人拉班的妹妹。

從前雅各逃到亞蘭地，以色列為娶妻子工作，為娶妻子而牧放。

這是利亞在巴旦‧亞蘭為雅各所生的兒孫，還有女兒底拿，兒孫共三十三人。

雅各從巴旦‧亞蘭回來，上帝又向他顯現，賜福給他。

你向僕人所施的一切慈愛和信實，我一點也不配得。我先前只用我的一根杖過這約旦河，如今我卻成了兩隊。

拉班和彼土利回答說：「這事既然出於耶和華，我們不能向你說好說歹。

以撒送雅各走了，雅各就往巴旦‧亞蘭去，到亞蘭人彼土利的兒子拉班那裏，拉班是利百加的哥哥，利百加是雅各和以掃的母親。

這些事以後，有人告訴亞伯拉罕說：「看哪，密迦也為你兄弟拿鶴生了幾個兒子：長子烏斯、他的兄弟布斯、亞蘭的父親基摩利、基薛、哈瑣、必達、益拉和彼土利。」彼土利生利百加。這八個人都是密迦為亞伯拉罕的兄弟拿鶴生的。

利百加有一個哥哥，名叫拉班，拉班就跑到外面井旁那人那裏。

又趕着他一切的牲畜和他所得的一切財物，就是他在巴旦‧亞蘭所得的，他擁有的牲畜，往迦南地他父親以撒那裏去了。

話還沒說完，看哪，利百加肩頭上扛着水瓶出來。利百加是彼土利所生的；彼土利是亞伯拉罕的兄弟拿鶴妻子密迦的兒子。那少女容貌極其美麗，是未曾與人親近的童女。她下到井旁，打滿了瓶子的水，就上來。僕人跑上前去迎着她，說：「請你讓我喝你瓶子裏的一點水。」少女說：「我主請喝！」就急忙拿下瓶子托在手上，給他喝水。那少女給他喝足了，又說：「我也為你的駱駝打水，直到駱駝喝足了。」她就急忙把瓶子裏的水倒在槽裏，又跑到井旁打水，為所有的駱駝打了水。那人定睛看着少女，一句話也不說，要知道耶和華是否使他的道路亨通。駱駝喝足了，那人就拿出一個比加重的金環，一對十舍客勒重的金手鐲，說：「請告訴我，你是誰的女兒？你父親家裏有沒有地方可以讓我們過夜？」少女說：「我是密迦為拿鶴生的兒子彼土利的女兒。」

那僕人從他主人的駱駝中取了十匹駱駝，他手中也帶着他主人各樣的貴重物品離開，起身往美索不達米亞去，到了拿鶴的城。

雅各起行，到了東方人之地。
