But he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

But Isaac said,“ Your brother came and tricked me. He took your blessing.”

But he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing.”

But Isaac said,“ Your brother was here, and he tricked me. He has taken away your blessing.”

But he replied,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

And he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully and has taken away your blessing.”

But he said,“ Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing.”

And he said, Thy brother came with guile, and hath taken away thy blessing.

But he replied,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.

But Isaac replied,“ Your brother came in here deceitfully and took away your blessing.”

He said,“ Your brother came with deceit, and has taken away your blessing.”

and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. (niv)

Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another? (niv)

Someone might argue,“ If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?”Why not say— as some slanderously claim that we say—“ Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is just! (niv)

Jacob said to his father,“ I am Esau your firstborn. I have done as you told me. Please sit up and eat some of my game, so that you may give me your blessing.”Isaac asked his son,“ How did you find it so quickly, my son?”“ The Lord your God gave me success,” he replied.Then Isaac said to Jacob,“ Come near so I can touch you, my son, to know whether you really are my son Esau or not.”Jacob went close to his father Isaac, who touched him and said,“ The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.”He did not recognize him, for his hands were hairy like those of his brother Esau; so he proceeded to bless him. (niv)

Now summon all the prophets of Baal, all his servants and all his priests. See that no one is missing, because I am going to hold a great sacrifice for Baal. Anyone who fails to come will no longer live.” But Jehu was acting deceptively in order to destroy the servants of Baal. (niv)

Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf? Will you speak deceitfully for him? (niv)

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (niv)
