This is what the Lord says, the Holy One of Israel and his Maker:“ Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, And you shall commit to Me the work of My hands.

Sarai was unable to conceive; she did not have a child.

Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; You will cry for help, and He will say,‘ Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness,

And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah and the name of the other Peninnah; and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.

So Sarai said to Abram,“ See now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Please have relations with my slave woman; perhaps I will obtain children through her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry for help and save them.

It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen.

You who hear prayer, To You all mankind comes.

Call upon Me on the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.

I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart,“ Will a child be born to a man a hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth to a child?”And Abraham said to God,“ Oh that Ishmael might live before You!”But God said,“ No, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you shall name him Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

For this boy I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my request which I asked of Him.

But Abram said,“ Lord God, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”Abram also said,“ Since You have given me no son, one who has been born in my house is my heir.”

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

And yet they had no child, because Elizabeth was infertile, and they were both advanced in years.

And she made a vow and said,“ Lord of armies, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your bond servant and remember me, and not forget Your bond servant, but will give Your bond servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head.”
