“ The Lord, the God of heaven, who brought me out of my father’s household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath, saying,‘ To your offspring I will give this land’— he will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there.

“ The Lord, the God of heaven, took me away from my father’s family. He brought me out of my own land. He made me a promise. He said,‘ I will give this land to your family after you.’ The Lord will send his angel ahead of you. So you will be able to get a wife for my son from there.

耶和华的使者在敬畏耶和华的人四围扎营，搭救他们。

难道所有的天使不都是服事的灵、奉差派服事那些将要继承救恩的人吗？

你所看见的一切地，我都必赐给你和你的后裔，直到永远。

我要使你明达，指示你当走的道路；我要指教你，我的目光在你身上。

就在那一天，耶和华与亚伯兰立约，说：“我已经把这地赐给你的后裔，从埃及河直到幼发拉底大河，

你以你的谋略引导我，以后必接我到荣耀里。

“这些君王年间，天上的神必立起一个永不毁灭的国度，这国度不会交给别的民族，却会砸碎、终结所有这些国，而它会存到永远，

那天夜里，耶和华向他显现，说：“我是你父亲亚伯拉罕的神；你不要害怕，因为我与你同在。我要因我仆人亚伯拉罕的缘故祝福你，并使你的后裔增多。”

说：“耶和华宣告：我指着自己起誓，你既然做了这事，没有留下你的儿子，就是你的独生子，我必定大大祝福你，使你的后裔大大增多，如同天上的星辰、海边的沙粒；你的后裔必占有仇敌的城门。地上万国都必因你的后裔而蒙福，因为你听从了我的话。”

你们作他天使的，就是大有能力、听从他命令、遵行他话语的，都要颂赞耶和华！

耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你当离开你的本土、本族、父家，往我将要指示你的地去。我要使你成为一个大国，我要祝福你，使你的名为大；你也必成为别人的祝福！祝福你的，我要祝福他；诅咒你的，我要诅咒他。地上万族都必因你而蒙福。”亚伯兰就照着耶和华吩咐他的去了，罗得也与他同去。亚伯兰从哈兰出来的时候年七十五岁。亚伯兰带着他的妻子撒莱和他兄弟的儿子罗得，以及他们积蓄的一切财物和他们在哈兰所得的人，一同出来，往迦南地去。最后他们来到了迦南地。亚伯兰在那地穿行，直到示剑地区，到摩利的橡树那里。当时迦南人就在那地。耶和华向亚伯兰显现，说：“我必把这地赐给你的后裔。”亚伯兰就在那里为向他显现的耶和华筑了一座祭坛。

就在那时刻，发生了大地震，那城的十分之一倒塌了，在地震中死去的有七千人。其余的人都感到害怕，把荣耀归给天上的神。

他在他们的一切患难中也受患难，并且他面前的使者拯救了他们。他以自己的爱和怜恤救赎了他们，在古时所有的日子里举起他们、背负他们。

你要全心依靠耶和华，不要依赖自己的悟性；在你一切的道路上，都要认定他，他就会修直你的路。

因着信，他做为外人客居在应许之地，住在帐幕里，与同一个应许的共同继承人以撒、雅各一样，

约拿对他们说：“我是希伯来人；我敬畏耶和华天上的神；他就是造了海和陆地的那一位。”

你要寄居在这地，我必与你同在，并祝福你，因为我必把所有这些地都赐给你和你的后裔；我必确立我向你父亲亚伯拉罕所起的誓。我必使你的后裔增多，如同天上的星辰，我必把所有这些地都赐给你的后裔；地上万国都必因你的后裔而蒙福，

在这里，神并没有赐给他继业，连立足的地方也没有。可是神应许要把这地赐给他和他的后裔为业。当时，亚伯拉罕还没有孩子。

我必把你现在的寄居之地，就是迦南全地，赐给你和你的后裔作永远的产业；我也必作他们的神。”
