我趕快謹守你的命令，不敢耽延。

既然樂意把自己的兒子啟示給我，使我可以在外族人中傳揚他，我就沒有和任何人（“人”原文作“肉和血”）商量，

因著信，亞伯拉罕在蒙召的時候，就聽命往他將要承受為業的地方去；他出去的時候，還不知道要往哪裡去。

亞伯拉罕清早起來，拿餅和一皮袋水，給了夏甲，放在她的肩膀上，又把孩子交給她，就打發她離開。夏甲走了，在別是巴的曠野飄蕩。

專心倚靠你的，你必保護他一切平安，因為他倚靠你。你們要倚靠耶和華，直到永遠，因為耶和華是永存的磐石。

彼得對他說：“你看，我們已經捨棄了一切，而且來跟從你了。”耶穌說：“我實在告訴你們，人為著我和福音捨棄了房屋、弟兄、姊妹、母親、父親、兒女、田地，沒有不在今生得百倍─就是房屋、弟兄、姊妹、母親、兒女、田地，同時要受迫害─在來世還要得永生。然而許多在前的將要在後，在後的將要在前。”

愛父母過於愛我的，不配作屬我的；愛兒女過於愛我的，不配作屬我的；

凡是你手可作的，都當盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間裡，既沒有工作，又沒有籌謀；沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

因著信，亞伯拉罕在受試驗的時候，就把以撒獻上；這就是那歡喜領受應許的人，獻上了自己的獨生子；論到這個兒子，曾經有話說：“以撒生的，才可以稱為你的後裔。”亞伯拉罕認定，神能使人從死人中復活，因此，就喻意說，他的確從死裡得回他的兒子。

就在那一天，亞伯拉罕照著神吩咐他的，給他兒子以實瑪利，和他家裡所有的男子，無論是在家裡生的，或是用銀子買來的，都割去了他們身上的包皮。
