上帝既然乐意把祂的儿子启示给我，叫我向外族人传扬祂的福音，我就没有跟任何人商量，

亚伯拉罕因为有信心，听到上帝的呼召后，就遵命前往他将要承受为产业的地方，但他出发的时候还不知道自己要去哪里。

第二天，亚伯拉罕清早起来，把食物和一皮袋水放在夏甲肩上，让她和孩子离开。夏甲在别示巴的旷野流浪。

你使坚信不移的人全然平安，因为他们信靠你。要永远信靠耶和华，因为耶和华是永远屹立的磐石。

彼得说：“你看，我们已经撇下一切来跟从你了。”耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，任何人为了我和福音而撇下房屋、弟兄、姊妹、父母、儿女或田地，今世必在房屋、弟兄、姊妹、父母、儿女或田地方面获得百倍的回报，来世必得永生。当然他也会受到迫害。然而，许多为首的将要殿后，殿后的将要为首。”

“爱父母过于爱我的人不配做我的门徒；爱儿女过于爱我的人不配做我的门徒；

凡你的手能做的，都要尽力去做，因为在你要去的阴间没有工作，没有计划，也没有知识和智慧。

亚伯拉罕被试验时凭信心把以撒献为祭物，承受应许的亚伯拉罕当时献上了自己的独生子。论到这儿子，上帝曾说：“以撒生的才可算为你的后裔。”他认定上帝能使死人复活，从象征意义上说，他也确实从死亡中得回了以撒。

亚伯拉罕就在那天照着上帝的吩咐，为儿子以实玛利和家中所有的男子，不论是在家中出生的，还是买回来的，都行了割礼。
