He said,“ I am giving you my word that I will bless you. I will bless you because of what you have done,” announces the Lord.“ You have not held back your son, your only son.

And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only[ son]:

and said,“‘ I solemnly swear by my own name,’ decrees the LORD,‘ that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,

and said,“‘ I have sworn by myself,’ says Yahweh,‘ because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son,

就是向我们的先祖亚伯拉罕所起的誓，

就是他与亚伯拉罕所立的约，向以撒所起的誓；

神向亚伯拉罕应许的时候，因为没有比自己更大的可以指着起誓，就指着自己起誓，说：“我必定大大赐福给你，多多地增加你的子孙。”

我要使你成为一个大国，我要祝福你，使你的名为大；你也必成为别人的祝福！

原来，赐给亚伯拉罕和他后裔继承世界的应许，不是藉着律法，而是藉着因信而得的义。这是因为，如果本于律法的才是继承人，信就落了空，应许也就无效了。

我指着自己起誓——从我的口凭公义发出的话语，绝不返回——‘万膝必向我跪下，万口必向我起誓。’
