Now swear to me right here in God’s name that you will not deceive me, my children, or my descendants. Show me, and the land where you are staying, the same loyalty that I have shown you.”

我愿你如今在这里指着神对我起誓，不要欺负我与我的儿子，并我的子孙。我怎样厚待了你，你也要照样厚待我与你所寄居这地的民。”

今汝在此、當指上帝而誓、毋欺我暨我子孫、依我所厚待爾者、待我及爾所旅之邦、

今當指上帝以誓、毋欺我及我子孫、以我所厚待爾者、爾亦如是待我、以及爾所旅斯土之民。

今在此、當指天主以誓、毋向我及我子我孫負心、我如何厚待爾、爾亦如何厚待我、及爾所旅之地、

Now swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or my descendants. Show to me and the country where you now reside as a foreigner the same kindness I have shown to you.”

Now make a promise to me here while God is watching. Give me your word that you will treat me fairly. Promise that you will treat my children and their children the same way. I’ve been kind to you. Now you be kind to me and the country where you are living as an outsider.”

Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my descendants or with my posterity, but as I have dealt kindly with you, so you will deal with me and with the land where you have sojourned.”

“ Swear to me in God’s name that you will never deceive me, my children, or any of my descendants. I have been loyal to you, so now swear that you will be loyal to me and to this country where you are living as a foreigner.”

Swear to me by God here and now, that you will not break an agreement with me or with my children and descendants. As I have been loyal to you, so you will be loyal to me and to the country where you are a resident alien.”

so now, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my offspring or with my descendants, but according to the kindness that I have shown to you, you shall show to me and to the land in which you have resided.”

Now therefore, swear to me by God that you will not deal falsely with me, with my offspring, or with my posterity; but that according to the kindness that I have done to you, you will do to me and to the land in which you have dwelt.”

now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.

So now, promise me this with an oath sworn in the LORD’s name. Because I have shown allegiance to you, show allegiance to my family. Give me a solemn pledge

So Abimelech gave sheep, cattle, and male and female servants to Abraham. He also gave his wife Sarah back to him.

For people swear by something greater than themselves, and the oath serves as a confirmation to end all dispute.

They replied,“ We could plainly see that the LORD is with you. So we decided there should be a pact between us– between us and you. Allow us to make a treaty with you

Jonathan once again took an oath with David, because he loved him. In fact Jonathan loved him as much as he did his own life.

You must be truthful, honest and upright when you take an oath saying,‘ As surely as the LORD lives!’ If you do, the nations will pray to be as blessed by him as you are and will make him the object of their boasting.”

But Abram replied to the king of Sodom,“ I raise my hand to the LORD, the Most High God, Creator of heaven and earth, and vowthat I will take nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal. That way you can never say,‘ It is I who made Abram rich.’

But if my father intends to do you harm, may the LORD do all this and more to Jonathan, if I don’t let you know and send word to you so you can go safely on your way. May the LORD be with you, as he was with my father.

So now, come, let’s make a formal agreement, you and I, and it will be proof that we have made peace.”

Jonathan said to David,“ Go in peace, for the two of us have sworn together in the name of the Lord saying,‘ The Lord will be between me and you and between my descendants and your descendants forever.’”( 21: 1) Then David got up and left, while Jonathan went back to the city.

You must revere the LORD your God, serve him, and take oaths using only his name.

David said to him,“ Can you take us down to this raiding party?” He said,“ Swear to me by God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to this raiding party.”

May the God of Abraham and the god of Nahor, the gods of their father, judge between us.” Jacob took an oath by the God whom his father Isaac feared.
