上帝说：“不，你妻子撒拉必为你生一个儿子，你要给他取名叫以撒，我必向他和他的后代坚守我的约，直到永远。

神说：“你的妻子撒拉，真的要为你生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫以撒，我要与他坚立我的约，作他后裔的永约。

神說：「不，你的妻子撒拉將為你生一個兒子，你要給他起名為以撒。我要與他確立我的約，作為他後裔永遠的約。

上帝曰、否、爾妻撒拉必生子、可名以撒、我將與彼立約、為其後裔之永約、

上帝曰、爾妻撒拉、果必生子、命名以撒、我將與以撒、及其後裔、立永約。

Then God said,“ Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

Then God said,“ Yes, I will bless Ishmael. But your wife Sarah will have a son by you. And you will name him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him. That covenant will last forever. It will be for Isaac and his family after him.

God said,“ No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.

But God replied,“ No— Sarah, your wife, will give birth to a son for you. You will name him Isaac, and I will confirm my covenant with him and his descendants as an everlasting covenant.

But God said,“ No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm my covenant with him as a permanent covenant for his future offspring.

But God said,“ No, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you shall name him Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

Then God said:“ No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.

But God said,“ No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his future offspring.

And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant,[ and] with his seed after him.

God said,“ No, Sarah your wife is going to bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm my covenant with him as a perpetual covenant for his descendants after him.

God said,“ No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.

但这并不是说神的话语落了空，因为由以色列所生的，并不都是以色列人；也不因为是亚伯拉罕的后裔，就都是他的儿女；只有“从以撒生的，才会被称为你的后裔。”这就是说，肉身的儿女并不是神的儿女，只有应许的儿女才算是后裔。原来所应许的话是这样的：“到明年这时候我要来，撒拉会生一个儿子。”

天使对他说：“撒迦利亚，不要怕，因为你的祈祷已蒙垂听。你的妻子伊莉莎白要为你生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫约翰。他将使你欢喜、快乐，许多人也会因他的诞生而欢欣，因为他将要在主面前为大。淡酒和烈酒他绝不能喝，还在母腹中的时候，他就会被圣灵充满。他将使许多以色列子民归向主——他们的神。他将藉着以利亚的灵和能力，在主的面前先行，使父亲的心转向儿女，使悖逆的人转向义人的智慧，好为主准备一群预备好了的子民。”撒迦利亚对天使说：“我凭着什么能知道这事呢？我是个老人，我的妻子也上了年纪。”天使回答他，说：“我是站在神面前的加百列，奉差派来对你说话，向你传达这些好消息。看哪，你要成为哑巴，不能说话，一直到这些事成就的日子，因为你不相信我的话！到了时候，我的话就会应验。”

撒拉怀了孕，到了神对亚伯拉罕说的那个所定时期，在亚伯拉罕年老的时候，为他生了一个儿子。亚伯拉罕给撒拉为他所生的儿子，起名为以撒。

不过弟兄们，你们就像以撒一样，是应许的儿女。但正如那由肉体生的当时逼迫了那由圣灵生的，现在也是这样。然而经上是怎么说的呢？“把女仆和她的儿子赶出去！因为女仆的儿子，绝不可以与自由女人的儿子一同做继承人。”因此，弟兄们，我们不是女仆的儿女，而是自由女人的儿女。

撒拉说：“神使我欢笑，所有听见的人也必与我一同欢笑。”

其中一位说：“明年这时候，我一定回到你这里。看哪，你的妻子撒拉将会有一个儿子！”当时撒拉正在那人后面的帐篷入口听着。亚伯拉罕和撒拉都已经老了，上了年纪，撒拉的月事也停止了。撒拉暗笑，心里说：“我已经衰老，我的丈夫也老了，我还能有这等快乐吗？”耶和华对亚伯拉罕说：“撒拉为什么暗笑，说：‘我已经老了，真的还能生育吗？’在耶和华还有难成的事吗？到了所定的时期，明年这时候，我必回到你这里；那时撒拉就会有一个儿子。”

你要寄居在这地，我必与你同在，并祝福你，因为我必把所有这些地都赐给你和你的后裔；我必确立我向你父亲亚伯拉罕所起的誓。

而我的约，我要与以撒确立。这以撒，就是撒拉要在明年所定的时期为你生的儿子。”
