我必祝之、賜之生子、復錫以嘏、使為列國之母、列王由之而出、

我將錫嘏、賜之生子、為群民母、列王由之出。

我必賜之以福、使之從爾生子、我必賜之以福、使為列族之母、列邦之王必由彼出、

I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

神又對他說：「我是全能的神；你要生養眾多，將來有一族和多國的民從你而生，又有君王從你而出。

我必使你的後裔極其繁多；國度從你而立，君王從你而出。

我必叫你成為大國。我必賜福給你，叫你的名為大；你也要叫別人得福。

三人中有一位說：「到明年這時候，我必要回到你這裏；你的妻子撒拉必生一個兒子。」撒拉在那人後邊的帳棚門口也聽見了這話。亞伯拉罕和撒拉年紀老邁，撒拉的月經已斷絕了。撒拉心裏暗笑，說：「我既已衰敗，我主也老邁，豈能有這喜事呢？」耶和華對亞伯拉罕說：「撒拉為甚麼暗笑，說：『我既已年老，果真能生養嗎？』耶和華豈有難成的事嗎？到了日期，明年這時候，我必回到你這裏，撒拉必生一個兒子。」

因為所應許的話是這樣說：「到明年這時候我要來，撒拉必生一個兒子。」

就如撒拉聽從亞伯拉罕，稱他為主。你們若行善，不因恐嚇而害怕，便是撒拉的女兒了。

但那在上的耶路撒冷是自主的，她是我們的母。因為經上記着：不懷孕、不生養的，你要歡樂；未曾經過產難的，你要高聲歡呼；因為沒有丈夫的，比有丈夫的兒女更多。弟兄們，我們是憑着應許作兒女，如同以撒一樣。當時，那按着血氣生的逼迫了那按着聖靈生的，現在也是這樣。然而經上是怎麼說的呢？是說：「把使女和她兒子趕出去！因為使女的兒子不可與自主婦人的兒子一同承受產業。」弟兄們，這樣看來，我們不是使女的兒女，乃是自主婦人的兒女了。

神就賜福給他們，又對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裏的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。」

他們就給利百加祝福說：我們的妹子啊，願你作千萬人的母！願你的後裔得着仇敵的城門！

列王必作你的養父；王后必作你的乳母。他們必將臉伏地，向你下拜，並舔你腳上的塵土。你便知道我是耶和華；等候我的必不致羞愧。
