神又对他说：“我是全能的神；你要繁衍增多；必有一国和众邦之国从你而来，众君王也必从你生出。

我要使你大大繁衍，多国因你而立，多王从你而出。

我要使你成为一个大国，我要祝福你，使你的名为大；你也必成为别人的祝福！

其中一位说：“明年这时候，我一定回到你这里。看哪，你的妻子撒拉将会有一个儿子！”当时撒拉正在那人后面的帐篷入口听着。亚伯拉罕和撒拉都已经老了，上了年纪，撒拉的月事也停止了。撒拉暗笑，心里说：“我已经衰老，我的丈夫也老了，我还能有这等快乐吗？”耶和华对亚伯拉罕说：“撒拉为什么暗笑，说：‘我已经老了，真的还能生育吗？’在耶和华还有难成的事吗？到了所定的时期，明年这时候，我必回到你这里；那时撒拉就会有一个儿子。”

原来所应许的话是这样的：“到明年这时候我要来，撒拉会生一个儿子。”

就像撒拉顺从亚伯拉罕，称他为主那样；当你们行善而不怕任何惊扰的时候，就成为撒拉的儿女了。

但那在上面的耶路撒冷是自由女人；她是我们的母亲。因为经上记着：“不能生育、没有生产的女子啊，你要欢喜！没有经历临产阵痛的女子啊，你要放声呼喊！因为没有丈夫的女子，比有丈夫的女子有更多的儿女。”不过弟兄们，你们就像以撒一样，是应许的儿女。但正如那由肉体生的当时逼迫了那由圣灵生的，现在也是这样。然而经上是怎么说的呢？“把女仆和她的儿子赶出去！因为女仆的儿子，绝不可以与自由女人的儿子一同做继承人。”因此，弟兄们，我们不是女仆的儿女，而是自由女人的儿女。

神祝福他们，又对他们说：“要繁衍增多，充满大地，并要管辖这地；也要管理海里的鱼、天空的飞鸟，以及在地上活动的一切生物。”

他们祝福莉白加，对她说：“我们的妹妹啊，愿你成为千万人的母亲，愿你的后裔占有仇敌的城门！”

君王们必作你儿女的抚养人，王后们必作你儿女的乳母；他们必脸伏于地，向你下拜，舔你脚上的尘土。那时，你就知道：我是耶和华，等候我的必不致蒙羞。”
