On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying,“ To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates:

In that day Yahweh made a covenant with Abram, saying,“ I have given this land to your offspring, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:

And the Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants forever.

You found his heart faithful before You, And made a covenant with him To give him the land of the Canaanite, Of the Hittite and the Amorite, Of the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite— To give it to his descendants. And You have fulfilled Your promise, Because You are righteous.

Every place on which the sole of your foot steps, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory.

I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,

Every place on which the sole of your foot steps shall be yours; your border will be from the wilderness to Lebanon, and from the river, the river Euphrates, as far as the western sea.

The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying,‘ To your descendants I will give this land’— He will send His angel ahead of you, and you will take a wife for my son from there.

Then the Lord said to him,“ This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying,‘ I will give it to your descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not go over there.”

I will send My terror ahead of you, and throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.And I will send hornets ahead of you so that they will drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites from you.I will not drive them out from you in a single year, so that the land will not become desolate and the animals of the field become too numerous for you.I will drive them out from you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land.I will set your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Euphrates River; for I will hand over the inhabitants of the land to you, and you will drive them out from you.

“ Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,not like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord.“ For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord:“ I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.They will not teach again, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying,‘ Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord,“ for I will forgive their wrongdoing, and their sin I will no longer remember.”

Then the border shall change direction from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its termination shall be at the sea.

Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, that is, Jesus our Lord,

Now Solomon was ruling over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt; they brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.

Turn and set out on your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and to all their neighbors in the Arabah, in the hill country, in the lowland, in the Negev, by the seacoast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.See, I have placed the land before you; go in and take possession of the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants after them.’

He was ruler over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the border of Egypt.

For My angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them.

Is my house not indeed so with God? For He has made an everlasting covenant with me, Properly ordered in all things, and secured; For will He not indeed make All my salvation and all my delight grow?

Then behold, the Lord was standing above it and said,“ I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your descendants.Your descendants will also be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, and to the north and to the south; and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Now when Abram was ninety nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him,“ I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.I will make My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly.”Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,“ As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And you will be the father of a multitude of nations.No longer shall you be named Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.And I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land where you live as a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”God said further to Abraham,“ Now as for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: every male among you shall be circumcised.And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you.And every male among you who is eight days old shall be circumcised throughout your generations, including a slave who is born in the house or who is bought with money from any foreigner, who is not of your descendants.A slave who is born in your house or who is bought with your money shall certainly be circumcised; so My covenant shall be in your flesh as an everlasting covenant.But as for an uncircumcised male, one who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”Then God said to Abraham,“ As for your wife Sarai, you shall not call her by the name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart,“ Will a child be born to a man a hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth to a child?”And Abraham said to God,“ Oh that Ishmael might live before You!”But God said,“ No, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you shall name him Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and make him fruitful and multiply him exceedingly. He shall father twelve princes, and I will make him into a great nation.But I will establish My covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year.”When He finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.Then Abraham took his son Ishmael, and all the slaves who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on this very same day, as God had said to him.Now Abraham was ninety nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.And his son Ishmael was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.On this very same day Abraham was circumcised, as well as his son Ishmael.And all the men of his household, those who were born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts, so that they will not turn away from Me.

Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David.

On that day the Lord will thresh from the flowing stream of the Euphrates River to the brook of Egypt, and you will be gathered up one by one, you sons of Israel.

Saying,“ To you I will give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance,”

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ If you can break My covenant for the day and My covenant for the night, so that day and night do not occur at their proper time,then My covenant with David My servant may also be broken, so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers.As the heavenly lights cannot be counted, and the sand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of My servant David and the Levites who serve Me.’ ”And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,“ Have you not observed what these people have asserted, saying,‘ The two families which the Lord chose, He has rejected them’? So they despise My people as no longer being a nation in their sight.This is what the Lord says:‘ If My covenant for day and night does not continue, and I have not established the fixed patterns of heaven and earth,then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so as not to take from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and have mercy on them.’ ”

Then the second lot went to Simeon, to the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Judah.So they had in their inheritance Beersheba or Sheba and Moladah,Hazar shual, Balah, and Ezem,Eltolad, Bethul, and Hormah,Ziklag, Beth marcaboth, and Hazar susah,Beth lebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities with their villages;Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan; four cities with their villages;and all the villages which were around these cities as far as Baalath beer, Ramah of the Negev. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families.The inheritance of the sons of Simeon was taken from the portion of the sons of Judah, because the share of the sons of Judah was too large for them; so the sons of Simeon received an inheritance in the midst of Judah’s inheritance.Now the third lot came up for the sons of Zebulun according to their families. And the territory of their inheritance was as far as Sarid.Then their border went up to the west and to Maralah, and it reached Dabbesheth and reached to the brook that is opposite Jokneam.Then it turned from Sarid to the east toward the sunrise as far as the border of Chisloth tabor, and it proceeded to Daberath and up to Japhia.From there it continued eastward toward the sunrise to Gath hepher, to Eth kazin, and it proceeded to Rimmon which stretches to Neah.Then the border circled around it on the north to Hannathon, and it ended at the Valley of Iphtahel.Included also were Kattah, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem; twelve cities with their villages.This was the inheritance of the sons of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.The fourth lot went to Issachar, to the sons of Issachar according to their families.Their territory was to Jezreel and included Chesulloth, Shunem,Hapharaim, Shion, and Anaharath,Rabbith, Kishion, and Ebez,Remeth, En gannim, En haddah, and Beth pazzez.The border reached to Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth shemesh, and their border ended at the Jordan; sixteen cities with their villages.This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Issachar according to their families, the cities with their villages.Now the fifth lot went to the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their families.Their territory was Helkath, Hali, Beten, and Achshaph,Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal; and it reached to Carmel on the west and Shihor libnath.It turned toward the east to Beth dagon and reached Zebulun, and to the Valley of Iphtahel northward to Beth emek and Neiel; then it proceeded on north to Cabul,Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Great Sidon.The border turned to Ramah and to the fortified city of Tyre; then the border turned to Hosah, and it ended at the sea by the region of Achzib.Included also were Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob; twenty two cities with their villages.This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.The sixth lot went to the sons of Naphtali; to the sons of Naphtali according to their families.Their border was from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami nekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, and it ended at the Jordan.Then the border turned westward to Aznoth tabor and proceeded from there to Hukkok; and it reached Zebulun on the south and reached Asher on the west, and Judah at the Jordan toward the east.The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,Adamah, Ramah, and Hazor,Kedesh, Edrei, and En hazor,Yiron, Migdal el, Horem, Beth anath, and Beth shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.

Joseph said to his brothers,“ I am about to die, but God will assuredly take care of you and bring you up from this land to the land which He promised on oath to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”

I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as strangers.

May He also give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your descendants with you, so that you may possess the land where you live as a stranger, which God gave to Abraham.”

“ Be sure to comply with what I am commanding you this day: behold, I am going to drive out the Amorite from you, and the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

Toward the east he settled as far as the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their livestock had increased in the land of Gilead.

So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

Brothers and sisters, I speak in terms of human relations: even though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been ratified, no one sets it aside or adds conditions to it.Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say,“ And to seeds,” as one would in referring to many, but rather as in referring to one,“ And to your seed,” that is, Christ.What I am saying is this: the Law, which came 430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.

It continued to Azmon and proceeded to the brook of Egypt, and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your southern border.

The name of the third river is Tigris; it flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,“ Now behold, I Myself am establishing My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you;and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the livestock, and every animal of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, every animal of the earth.I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be eliminated by the waters of a flood, nor shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth.”God said,“ This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations;I have set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall serve as a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.It shall come about, when I make a cloud appear over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud,and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.When the rainbow is in the cloud, then I will look at it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”And God said to Noah,“ This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

“ When the Lord your God brings you into the land where you are entering to take possession of it, and He drives away many nations from before you, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you,

Now these are the kings of the land whom the sons of Israel defeated, and they took possession of their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the Valley of the Arnon as far as Mount Hermon, and all the Arabah to the east:Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, both the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, even as far as the brook Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon;and the Arabah as far as the Sea of Chinneroth toward the east, and as far as the Sea of the Arabah, that is, the Salt Sea, eastward toward Beth jeshimoth, and on the south, at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah;and the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the remnant of Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,and ruled over Mount Hermon, Salecah, and all Bashan, as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, as far as the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.Moses the servant of the Lord and the sons of Israel defeated them; and Moses the servant of the Lord gave it to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh as a possession.Now these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel defeated beyond the Jordan toward the west, from Baal gad in the Valley of Lebanon even as far as Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir; and Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions,in the hill country, in the lowland, in the Arabah, on the slopes, in the wilderness, and in the Negev; the Hittite, the Amorite and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;the king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;the king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;the king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;the king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;the king of Shimron meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;

“ Command the sons of Israel and say to them,‘ When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, that is, the land of Canaan according to its borders.Your southern region shall extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern border shall extend from the end of the Salt Sea eastward.

Then David defeated Hadadezer, the son of Rehob king of Zobah, as he went to restore his power at the Euphrates River.

And the land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give to you, And I will give the land to your descendants after you.”
