你們要盡力與大家和睦相處，並要追求聖潔的生活，因為不聖潔的人不能見主。

你們可以在我們這裡安頓下來，這片土地就在你們面前，住在這裡做買賣、置產業吧。」

又對他說：「我的國土就在你面前，你想住在哪裡都可以。」

總而言之，你們要同心合意，互相關懷，彼此相愛，仁慈謙虛。不要以惡報惡，以辱駡還辱駡，反要祝福對方，這是你們蒙召的目的，好叫你們得到祝福。因為聖經上說：「若有人熱愛生命，渴望幸福，就要舌頭不出惡言，嘴唇不說詭詐的話。要棄惡行善，竭力追求和睦。因為主的眼睛看顧義人，祂的耳朵垂聽他們的祈求。但主必嚴懲作惡之人。」

如果可能，總要盡力與人和睦相處。

你們互相指控，已經是很大的失敗，為什麼不能甘願受欺負、吃點虧呢？

我愛和平，但我倡導和平的時候，他們卻要戰爭。

你們當中誰是有智慧、有見識的呢？請他帶著來自智慧的謙和，在善行上表現出來。但如果你們心懷苦毒的嫉妒和自私的野心，就不要自誇說有智慧，也不要違背真理去撒謊。這種智慧並非來自天上，而是從世俗、私慾和魔鬼來的。哪裡有嫉妒和自私的野心，哪裡就會有混亂和各樣的惡事。但從天上來的智慧首先是純潔，然後是愛好和平、溫良柔順、充滿憐憫、多結善果、不存偏見、沒有虛偽。使人和睦的人撒下和平的種子，必收穫仁義的果實。
