Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.

Terah left Ur in Babylon. He took with him his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran. Terah also took his daughter- in- law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram. All of them left together to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they made their home there.

Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there.

One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter in law Sarai( his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot( his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there.

塔勒的年日有兩百零五年，然後死在哈蘭。耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你當離開你的本土、本族、父家，往我將要指示你的地去。

迦南的邊界從西頓延伸到基拉耳，直到加沙；又延伸到所多瑪、格摩拉、押瑪、洗扁，直到拉沙。

我兒啊，現在你當聽我的話；起來！逃往哈蘭，到我哥哥拉班那裡去，

因著信，亞伯拉罕蒙召的時候，就順從出發，往他將要得為繼業的地方去。他出發的時候，還不知道往哪裡去。

雅各問牧人們：「我的兄弟們，你們從哪裡來？」他們說：「我們從哈蘭來。」他問他們：「你們認識拿鶴的孫子拉班嗎？」他們說：「我們認識。」

塔勒活到七十歲時，生了亞伯蘭、拿鶴和哈蘭。以下是塔勒的譜系：塔勒生了亞伯蘭、拿鶴、哈蘭；哈蘭生了羅得。哈蘭在他父親塔勒之前，死在他本族之地，就是迦勒底的吾珥。
