Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.

Terah left Ur in Babylon. He took with him his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran. Terah also took his daughter- in- law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram. All of them left together to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they made their home there.

Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there.

One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter in law Sarai( his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot( his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there.

你是耶和華上帝，你揀選了亞伯蘭，帶他離開迦勒底的吾珥，又給他改名為亞伯拉罕。

司提凡說：「各位父老兄弟，請聽我說！我們的祖先亞伯拉罕還未遷到哈蘭之前，住在美索不達米亞，榮耀的上帝向他顯現，說，『你要離開家鄉和親族，到我要指示你的地方去。』亞伯拉罕就離開迦勒底人的地方，在哈蘭住了下來。他父親過世以後，上帝又領他到你們現在居住的這個地方。

亞伯蘭就照耶和華的吩咐離開哈蘭，侄兒羅得與他同行。那時亞伯蘭七十五歲。

耶和華又對他說：「我是耶和華，我帶你離開了迦勒底的吾珥，為要把這片土地賜給你。」

老總管帶著主人的十匹駱駝和各種上好的禮物，啟程前往美索不達米亞，來到拿鶴住的城。

他拉在那裡去世，享年二百零五歲。耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你要離開家鄉、親族和父親的家，到我要指示你的地方去。

約書亞對全體民眾說：「以色列的上帝耶和華這樣說，『從前你們的祖先，包括亞伯拉罕和拿鶴二人的父親他拉，住在幼發拉底河那邊拜別的神明。我把你們的祖先亞伯拉罕從幼發拉底河那邊帶出來，領他走遍迦南，使他人丁興旺。我把以撒賜給他，

迦南的疆域從西頓向基拉耳延伸，遠至迦薩，再向所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁延伸，遠至拉沙。

孩子，聽我的話，現在就逃到哈蘭你舅舅拉班那裡，

亞伯拉罕因為有信心，聽到上帝的呼召後，就遵命前往他將要承受為產業的地方，但他出發的時候還不知道自己要去哪裡。

雅各問牧人：「弟兄們，你們是從哪裡來的？」他們說：「我們是從哈蘭來的。」雅各問道：「你們認識拿鶴的孫子拉班嗎？」他們說：「我們認識。」

他拉七十歲後，生了亞伯蘭、拿鶴和哈蘭。以下是他拉的後代。他拉生亞伯蘭、拿鶴和哈蘭，哈蘭生羅得。哈蘭比他父親他拉先去世，他死在自己的家鄉——迦勒底的吾珥。

老總管的話還沒有說完，就有一位名叫利百加的少女肩上扛著水罐走出來。她是彼土利的女兒，彼土利是亞伯拉罕的兄弟拿鶴和密迦所生的兒子。
