他們又說：「來吧！讓我們為自己建造一座城和一座塔，塔頂通天，好為自己立名，免得我們分散在整個地面上。」

我對自己說：「來吧，我要用享樂試驗你，讓你看看有什麼好處！」看哪，這也是虛空！

來吧！讓我們下去，在那裡把他們的語言變亂，使他們彼此聽不懂對方的語言。」

只要日子還被稱為「今天」，你們就要天天互相鼓勵，免得你們當中有人被罪迷惑，心裡剛硬。

他們彼此慫恿去做惡事，彼此商量要暗設陷阱，說：「誰能看見呢？」

現在來吧，你們這些富有的人哪！應當為那些將要臨到你們的慘禍而痛哭、哀號！
