就在那一天，耶和華與亞伯蘭立約，說：「我已經把這地賜給你的後裔，從埃及河直到幼發拉底大河，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫提人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。」

那時，耶和華就使硫磺與火從天而降，從耶和華那裡降在所多瑪和格摩拉，使那些城和整個平原，連同各城所有的居民和地上生長的都遭覆滅。
