當你們舉目觀看你們的上帝耶和華賜給天下萬民的日、月、星辰等天上萬象時，不要受誘惑去跪拜、供奉它們。

那位造昴星和參星，使幽暗變為黎明，使白晝變為黑夜，召來海水澆在大地上的——祂的名字是耶和華。

你命月亮定節令，使太陽自知西沉。你造黑暗，定為夜晚，作林中百獸出沒的時間。

白晝和黑夜都屬於你，你設立了日月。你劃定大地的疆界，又創造了盛夏和寒冬。

我觀看你指頭創造的穹蒼和你擺列的月亮星辰，人算什麼，你竟顧念他！世人算什麼，你竟眷顧他！

太陽、月亮啊，你們要讚美祂！閃亮的星辰啊，你們要讚美祂！

使陽光白天照耀、星月晚上發光、大海波濤洶湧的萬軍之耶和華說：

要稱謝那位創造日月星辰的，因為祂的慈愛永遠長存。祂讓太陽管理白晝，因為祂的慈愛永遠長存。祂讓月亮星辰管理黑夜，因為祂的慈愛永遠長存。

祂使這一切各處其位，永不改變，祂的命令永不廢棄。

耶和華說：「不要效法列國的行為。他們被天象嚇倒，你們卻不要因天象而害怕。

日月昏暗，星辰無光。

你們向天舉目，看看是誰創造了這萬象？是誰把眾星一一領出來，給它們取名？祂的權柄和能力極大無比，它們一個也不會少。

只要大地尚存，播種收割、夏熱冬寒、白晝黑夜必永不停息。」

「我要在天上地下行奇事，你們將看見血、火和煙柱。太陽要變得昏暗，月亮要變得血紅。在耶和華偉大而可畏的日子來臨以前，這些事都會發生。

當我消滅你的時候，我要用雲遮蔽天空，使日月無光，星辰昏暗。我要遮蔽天上所有的光，使黑暗籠罩你的四境。這是主耶和華說的。

所到之處，天搖地動，日月昏暗，星辰無光。

羔羊揭開第六印的時候，我看見大地震發生了，太陽變得像黑毛布一樣黑，整個月亮變成血紅色，

要在我們過節的朔日和望日吹響號角。

「你生平可曾向晨曦發號施令，為黎明的曙光指定崗位，使陽光普照大地，抖出藏匿的惡人？日光使大地改觀，如泥上蓋印，萬物如衣服般顯出顏色。

「日月星辰必顯出異兆，怒海洶湧、波濤翻騰，令各國驚恐不安。天體必震動，人類想到世界要面臨的事都嚇得魂不附體。

「你能繫住昴星的結，解開參星的帶嗎？你能按季節領出星座，引導北斗及其眾星嗎？

「這是耶和華說的，『除非你們能廢除我與白晝黑夜所立的約，叫白晝黑夜不再按時更替，

太陽黯然無光。忽然掛在聖殿裡的幔子從中間裂成兩半。

要在朔日獻公牛犢一頭、羊羔六隻、公綿羊一隻，都要毫無殘疾。

問道：「那生來做猶太人之王的在哪裡呢？我們在東方看見祂的星，特來朝拜祂。」

「主耶和華說，『聖殿內院的東門在平時工作的六日內都要關閉，只在安息日和朔日才打開。

耶穌回答說：「傍晚的時候，你們看見天邊出現紅霞，就說明天一定是晴天；早晨的時候，你們看見天色又紅又暗，就說今天必有風雨。你們懂得分辨天色，卻不能分辨時代的徵兆。

天地照你的法令一直存到今日，因為萬物都是你的僕役。

主耶和華說：「到那日，我要使太陽中午落下，使白晝變為黑暗。

願那夜的晨星昏暗，等不到晨光的出現，看不見黎明的眼簾。

「當災難的日子一過，『太陽變黑，月亮無光，眾星隕落，天體震動。』

我把彩虹放在雲中，作為我跟大地立約的記號。

在天上，我要顯異兆；在地上，我要行神蹟，有血、有火、有濃煙。太陽要變得昏暗，月亮要變得血紅。這都要發生在主偉大榮耀的日子來臨以前。

諸天述說上帝的榮耀，穹蒼傳揚祂的作為。它們日復一日地訴說，夜復一夜地宣揚，無言無語，無聲無息。它們的聲音傳遍天下，它們的話語傳到地極。上帝在天上為太陽設立居所。太陽出來時，如步出洞房的新郎，又如歡然奔跑賽程的健兒。它滑過長空，從天這邊繞到天那邊，熱量廣及萬物。

它打開無底坑時，濃煙從坑裡冒出來，好像大火爐的煙一樣，太陽和天空都變得昏暗了。

第四位天使吹號的時候，太陽、月亮和星辰的三分之一都受到重擊，以致失去了光輝，於是日間的三分之一黯淡無光，夜間也是如此。

然而，耶和華說，『正如我決不廢棄我所定的晝夜交替和天地運行之律，

誰能計算祂天軍的數目？誰不被祂的光輝照耀？

在祂眼中，月亮算不上明亮，星辰也算不上皎潔，
