你们要察验自己是否在信仰中，要考验自己。难道你们不了解耶稣基督在你们里面吗？除非你们是经不起考验的。

我现在所做的，将来还要做，为要断绝那些人的机会——他们想找一个机会，好让别人以为他们所夸耀的与我们一样，因为这样的人是假使徒，是诡诈的工人，他们装做基督的使徒。

我们所夸耀的是这一点：我们的良心见证了我们在世上行事为人带着属神的忠实和真诚，不是靠属肉体的智慧，而是靠神的恩典；对你们更是如此。

心中背道的必饱尝他行为的后果；好人也必饱尝他行为的回报。

至于我被你们评断，或被人审判，对我都是极小的事。其实连我自己也不评断自己。我诚然问心无愧，但也并不因此被称为义，原来评断我的是主。

这样，一个人应当省察自己，然后才吃这饼、喝这杯。

耶和华啊，求你察验我，试验我，熬炼我的肺腑心肠！

这就是说：你们各自声称“我是属保罗的”，或“我是属阿波罗的”，或“我是属矶法的”，或“我是属基督的”。难道基督是被分割的吗？难道保罗为你们被钉十字架了吗？或者你们受洗是归入保罗的名吗？

所以谁都不要以人夸耀；要知道，一切都属于你们：无论是保罗、是阿波罗、是矶法、是世界、是生、是死、是现在的事、是将来的事，全都属于你们；而你们属于基督，基督属于神。

弟兄们，我把这些事应用到我和阿波罗身上，是为了你们的缘故，好让你们从我们学到“不要超越经上所记的”，免得你们自我膨胀，抬高这个人，贬低那个人。使你与别人不同的到底是谁呢？你有什么不是领受的呢？如果真是领受的，你为什么还自夸，好像不是领受的呢？

那法利赛人站着，向自己祷告这些话：‘神哪，我感谢你，因为我不像其他人那样：勒索、不义、通奸，也不像这个税吏。

事实上，那些受割礼的人自己也不遵守律法。他们要你们受割礼，是为了以你们的肉体夸耀。
