当然，有些人宣讲基督是出于嫉妒和争强好胜，也有些人是出于善意。

那些接受割礼的人自己也不能遵行律法。他们要你们接受割礼，无非是想借着你们的肉体夸耀。

耶稣对他们说：“你们在人面前自以为义，但上帝能看透你们的心。因为世人所看重的东西在上帝看来却是可憎的。

“你们禁食的时候，不要像伪君子那样愁眉苦脸，因为他们故意蓬头垢面，好让别人知道他们在禁食。我实在告诉你们，他们得到的赏赐不过是人的赞赏。

他们侵吞寡妇的财产，还假意做冗长的祷告。这种人必受到更严厉的惩罚！”

各人不要只顾自己的事，也要为别人的需要着想。

我们不敢和那些自我推荐的人相提并论！他们以自己的尺度衡量自己，自我比较，实在不明智！

“因此，周济穷人的时候，不要大吹大擂，像那些伪君子在会堂和街市上所行的一样，以博取人们的赞赏。我实在告诉你们，他们得到的赏赐仅此而已。

你们虚有公义的外表，内心却充满了各种的虚伪和罪恶。

我看见他们不照福音的真理行，就当众对彼得说：“你身为犹太人，如果行事为人像外族人，不像犹太人，又怎能强迫外族人按犹太人的规矩生活呢？”

我已经多次告诉你们，现在又流着泪提醒你们：有许多人行事为人与基督的十字架为敌。

“你们祷告时，不要像伪君子那样。他们喜欢站在会堂里和十字路口上公开祷告，故意让人看见。我实在告诉你们，他们得到的赏赐不过是人的赞赏。
