但那出于婢女的，是按着肉体生的；那出于自由的妇人的，是凭着应许生的。

然而，那使女所生的是按着血气生的；那自主之妇人所生的，是凭着应许生的。

婢出者、依形軀而生、自由出者、乃由應許焉、

婢出者、循人道、婦出者、因應許、

其由婢生者、循血氣而生、其由自主之婦生者、因應許而生、

然婢女之子、乃因肉情而生；而主婦之子、則憑恩諾而生。

His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.

Abraham’s son by the slave woman was born in the usual way. But his son by the free woman was born because of God’s promise.

But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise.

The son of the slave wife was born in a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise. But the son of the freeborn wife was born as God’s own fulfillment of his promise.

But the one by the slave was born as a result of the flesh, while the one by the free woman was born through promise.

But the son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.

But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise,

Howbeit the son by the handmaid is born after the flesh; but the son by the freewoman is born through promise.

But the one by the slave was born according to the impulse of the flesh, while the one by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.

因着信，甚至撒拉，她虽然过了生育的年龄，还是能够怀孕，因为她认为那应许她的是信实的。

也不因为他们是亚伯拉罕的后裔，就都成为他的儿女，只有“以撒生的，才可以称为你的后裔”，这就是说，肉身生的儿女并不是神的儿女，只有凭着应许生的儿女才算是后裔。

耶和华照着以前所说的，眷顾撒拉；耶和华按着他的应许，给撒拉作成。亚伯拉罕年老的时候，撒拉怀了孕，到了神应许的日期，就给亚伯拉罕生了一个儿子。

其中一位说：“到明年这个时候，我必回到你这里来。那时，你的妻子撒拉必生一个儿子。”撒拉在那人后面的帐棚门口，也听见了这话。当时，亚伯拉罕和撒拉都老了，上了年纪，撒拉的月经也停止了。撒拉心里暗笑，说：“现在我已经衰老了，我的丈夫也老了，我还有房事的乐趣吗？”耶和华对亚伯拉罕说：“撒拉为什么暗笑说：‘我已经老了，真的还能生育吗？’耶和华岂有难成的事吗？到明年这个时候，我要回到你这里来，那时，撒拉必生一个儿子。”

可是，弟兄们，你们是按着应许作儿女的，好像以撒一样。不过，当时那按着肉体生的，迫害那按着圣灵生的，现在也是这样。

在他没有盼望的时候，仍然怀着盼望去信，因此就成了万国的父，正如神所说：“你的后裔将要这样众多。”他快到一百岁的时候，想到自己的身体好像已经死了，撒拉也不能生育，他的信心还是不软弱，也没有因着不信而疑惑神的应许，反倒坚信不移，把荣耀归给神，满心相信神所应许的，神必能成就。

神又对亚伯拉罕说：“至于你的妻子撒莱，不要再叫她的名撒莱，要叫撒拉。我必赐福给她，也必使她为你生一个儿子；我要赐福给她，她也要作多国的母，万族的君王必从她而出。”亚伯拉罕就俯伏在地，笑了起来，心里说：“一百岁的人，还能生孩子吗？撒拉已经九十岁了，还能生育吗？”亚伯拉罕对神说：“愿以实玛利能在你面前活着！”神说：“你的妻子撒拉，真的要为你生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫以撒，我要与他坚立我的约，作他后裔的永约。

然而那出于信心的义还说什么呢？“这话与你相近，在你口里，也在你心里。”这话就是我们所传信心的信息。
