So also Abraham“ believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

In the same way, Abraham“ believed God. God was pleased with Abraham because he believed. So his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6)

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. (niv)

being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.This is why“ it was credited to him as righteousness.” (niv)

And the scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. (niv)

but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness— for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. (niv)

Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness.Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before!And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. (niv)

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (niv)

So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. (niv)

Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.As it is written:“ See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.” (niv)
