彼得一回到耶路撒冷，嚴守割禮的門徒就指責他：「你竟然去未受割禮之人的家，還和他們一同吃飯！」

當時被譽為教會柱石的雅各、彼得和約翰明白了上帝賜給我的恩典之後，就與我和巴拿巴用右手行相交之禮，讓我們向外族人傳福音，他們向受割禮的人傳福音。

這奧祕就是外族人能夠在基督耶穌裡藉著福音與以色列人同作後嗣，同為一體，同享應許。

當時，彼得還坐在外面的院子裡，有一個婢女走過來對他說：「你也是跟那個加利利人耶穌一夥的。」彼得卻當眾否認：「我不知道你在說什麼。」正當他走到門口要離開時，另一個婢女看見他，就對旁邊的人說：「這個人是跟拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的！」彼得再次否認，並發誓說：「我不認識那個人。」過了一會兒，旁邊站著的人過來對彼得說：「你肯定也是他們一夥的，聽你的口音就知道了。」彼得又賭咒又發誓，說：「我不認識那個人！」就在這時候，雞叫了。彼得想起耶穌說的話：「在雞叫以前，你會三次不認我。」他就跑出去，失聲痛哭。

從此，你們不再是外人或過客，你們與眾聖徒一樣是天國的子民，是上帝家裡的人了。你們已被建立在眾使徒和先知們的基礎上，基督耶穌自己是房角石。整座建築的各部分都靠祂巧妙地連接在一起，逐漸成為主的聖殿。你們也靠著祂被建造在一起，成為上帝藉著聖靈居住的地方。

懼怕人的必自陷網羅，信靠耶和華的必安穩。

杜絕所有的惡事。

並廢除了以誡命和規條為內容的律法制度。祂這樣做是為了在自己裡面把雙方造成一個新人，成就和平，

第二天，保羅和我們去見雅各，眾長老都在那裡。保羅向大家問安之後，便一一述說上帝如何藉著他傳福音給外族人。大家聽了，都同聲讚美上帝，又對保羅說：「弟兄，你知道數以萬計的猶太人信了主，他們都嚴守律法。他們聽見有人說你教導住在外族人中的猶太人背棄摩西的律法，不替孩子行割禮，也不遵守猶太人的規矩。他們一定會聽到你來這裡的消息，這該怎麼辦？請你聽我們的建議，這裡有四位向上帝許過願的弟兄，你和他們一起去行潔淨禮，並由你替他們付費，讓他們可以剃頭，好叫眾人知道你嚴守律法，循規蹈矩，關於你的傳聞都是假的。至於那些外族信徒，我們已經寫信吩咐他們，不可吃祭過偶像的食物，不可吃血和勒死的牲畜，不可淫亂。」

還對人說，『站遠點，別挨近我，因為我比你聖潔！』我被這些人氣得鼻孔冒煙，整天怒火難息。

「你們懼怕誰，以致對我說謊，不把我放在心上，忘記我？你們不再敬畏我，是因為我長期沉默嗎？
