Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.

The people who built the altar were afraid of the nations around them. But they built it anyway. They set it up where it had stood before. They sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord. They offered the morning and evening sacrifices on it.

They set the altar in its place, for fear was on them because of the peoples of the lands, and they offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, burnt offerings morning and evening.

Even though the people were afraid of the local residents, they rebuilt the altar at its old site. Then they began to sacrifice burnt offerings on the altar to the Lord each morning and evening.

命以色列族云、所獻於我之食、為馨香之火祭、當循其期以獻、更告之曰、所當日獻耶和華之火祭、即一歲之牡羔二、純全無疵、恆為燔祭、朝一暮一、又獻細麵伊法十分之一、和清油一欣四分之一、為素祭、昔在西乃山、所命恆獻燔祭、以為馨香之火祭、奉於耶和華者、即此、獻其一羔、所奉灌祭之酒、一欣四分之一、必以醇醪奠於聖所、以為灌祭、奉於耶和華、薄暮獻其一羔、循其清晨素祭灌祭之例、以為馨香之火祭、奉於耶和華、○

我敵終日欲噬我、傲然攻我者眾多兮、我恐懼時、惟爾是恃、我恃上帝、而頌其言、我恃上帝、而不恐懼、血氣之人、其奈我何兮、

耶和華為我光、我之拯救、吾其誰懼兮、耶和華為我生命之保障、吾其誰惕兮、惟彼惡人、我仇我敵、進攻欲食我肉、咸躓而顚兮、

又作銅壇、長二十肘、寬二十肘、高十肘、

奉表於亞達薛西王、其文曰、爾僕河西之人奏王、願王知之、自爾而來、至於我所耶路撒冷之猶大人、建此叛亂惡劣之邑、已治其基、而成其垣、願王知之、若建斯邑而成其垣、其後彼不進貢、輸餉納稅、終必有損於王、我儕既食宮鹽、不宜見王受辱、故奏於王、請稽先王典籍、則見而知、此為叛亂之邑、自古多起紛擾、常為列王諸州之害、故為荒墟、敢陳於王、若斯邑復建、其垣竣工、則河西之地、不復為王有矣、

時、我在亞哈瓦河濱、宣告禁食、在我上帝前自卑、求其使我及幼稚、與凡所有、俱得坦途、昔我告王曰、凡尋求我上帝者、必蒙其祐、棄之者必犯其權、干其怒、今求王遣步卒騎兵、助我禦敵於路、我以為恥、

宜日獻於壇者、即一歲之羔二、晨獻其一、暮獻其一、晨獻羔、加細麵伊法十分之一、和擣油一欣四分之一、及酒一欣四分之一、以為灌祭、暮獻羔、如晨禮、亦獻素祭灌祭、以為耶和華馨香之火祭、此歷世恆獻之燔祭、行於耶和華前、在會幕門、我將臨而諭汝之所、
