我怒之日、彼棄金銀於逵衢、欲救其命、欲果其腹、欲安其心、亦屬無益、昔作惡以得之、今使之顛躓。

彼將擲銀於衢、視金如污穢物、主怒之日、其金銀不能救之、不能用以充饑果腹、因金銀使其陷於罪、

“‘ They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be treated as a thing unclean. Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath. It will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs, for it has caused them to stumble into sin.

“‘ They will throw their silver into the streets. They will treat their gold like an“ unclean” thing. Their silver and gold won’t be able to save them on the day I pour out my anger. It will not be able to satisfy their hunger. Their stomachs can’t be filled with it. Their silver and gold have tripped them up. It has made them fall into sin.

They cast their silver into the streets, and their gold is like an unclean thing. Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord. They cannot satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it. For it was the stumbling block of their iniquity.

“ They will throw their money in the streets, tossing it out like worthless trash. Their silver and gold won’t save them on that day of the Lord’s anger. It will neither satisfy nor feed them, for their greed can only trip them up.

They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will seem like something filthy. Their silver and gold will be unable to save them in the day of the LORD’s wrath. They will not satisfy their appetites or fill their stomachs, for these were the stumbling blocks that brought about their iniquity.

They will fling their silver into the streets, and their gold will become an abhorrent thing; their silver and their gold will not be able to save them on the day of the wrath of the Lord. They cannot satisfy their appetite, nor can they fill their stomachs, because their wrongdoing has become a cause of stumbling.

在耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀救不了他們。祂的怒火必吞噬大地，祂必驟然毀滅一切世人。」

在降怒之日，財富毫無益處，唯有公義能救人免於死亡。

「人子啊，這些人在心裡立起偶像，把導致犯罪的絆腳石放在自己面前，我豈能讓他們來求問？你告訴他們，主耶和華這樣說，『任何以色列人若在心裡立起偶像，把導致犯罪的絆腳石放在自己面前，又來求問先知，我耶和華必按他心中假神的數目親自用懲罰回答他，

因為以色列人或是在以色列定居的外族人若背棄我，在心中樹立偶像，把導致犯罪的絆腳石放在自己面前，又來向先知求問我的旨意，我耶和華必親自用懲罰回答他。

因為利未人帶動以色列人拜偶像，使以色列人陷入罪中，所以我起誓，他們必承擔自己犯罪的後果。這是主耶和華說的。

「他以邪惡為甘飴，將其藏在舌下，含在口中，慢慢品味。這食物在腹中變酸，變成了蛇的毒液。他要吐出所吞下的財富，上帝要倒空他腹中之物。他吸吮蛇的毒液，被蛇的舌頭害死。他無法享用流淌不盡的奶與蜜。他留不住勞碌的成果，無法享用所賺的財富。他欺壓、漠視窮人，強佔別人的房屋。他貪慾無度，不放過任何喜愛之物。他吞掉一切所有，他的福樂不能長久。他在富足時將陷入困境，各種災禍將接踵而至。上帝的怒火如雨降在他身上，填滿他的肚腹。

那時，我就可以對自己說，「你積存這麼多財產，一生享用不盡，現在大可高枕無憂、盡情地吃喝玩樂吧！」』但上帝對他說，『無知的人啊！今晚就要取走你的命！你所預備的一切留給誰享用呢？』」

你們必拋棄自己那些鍍金包銀的偶像，把它們當作污穢之物丟掉，對它們說：「去吧！」

你們為什麼花錢買不能充饑的食物？為什麼拿辛苦賺來的錢買不能令人飽足的東西？要留心聽我的話，就可以吃美物，享受豐盛的佳餚。

到那日，眾人必把造來敬拜的金銀偶像丟給田鼠和蝙蝠。

人若賺得全世界，卻喪失自己的生命，又有什麼益處呢？人還能拿什麼換回自己的生命呢？

貪愛錢財的，金銀不能使他滿足；貪圖富裕的，再多的利益也不能叫他稱心。這也是虛空！

但是，他們還沒有吃完，肉還在口中的時候，上帝就向他們發怒，殺掉了他們當中最強壯的，消滅了以色列的青年。

大衛也說：「願他們的宴席成為網羅、陷阱、絆腳石，給他們帶來報應；

便在傍晚時分撇下帳篷、馬和驢，棄營而逃。那幾個痲瘋病人到了營地，走進一個帳篷，又吃又喝，把那裡的金銀和衣服拿走收藏起來，再回來進入另一個帳篷，把財物拿走收藏起來。

探子一路追到約旦河，沿路看見到處都是亞蘭軍倉皇逃走時丟棄的衣服和裝備，便回去稟告王。
