The seller will not recover the property that was sold— as long as both buyer and seller live. For the vision concerning the whole crowd will not be reversed. Because of their sins, not one of them will preserve their life.

The seller will not get back the land that was sold. That will be true as long as both the buyer and seller are alive.“‘ Ezekiel, the vision I gave you about that whole crowd will come true. They have committed many sins. So not one of them will be able to save their life.

For the seller shall not return to what he has sold, while they live. For the vision concerns all their multitude; it shall not turn back; and because of his iniquity, none can maintain his life.

Even if the merchants survive, they will never return to their business. For what God has said applies to everyone— it will not be changed! Not one person whose life is twisted by sin will ever recover.

Throughout the land that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land.“‘ If one of your fellow Israelites becomes poor and sells some of their property, their nearest relative is to come and redeem what they have sold.If, however, there is no one to redeem it for them but later on they prosper and acquire sufficient means to redeem it themselves,they are to determine the value for the years since they sold it and refund the balance to the one to whom they sold it; they can then go back to their own property.But if they do not acquire the means to repay, what was sold will remain in the possession of the buyer until the Year of Jubilee. It will be returned in the Jubilee, and they can then go back to their property.

But houses in villages without walls around them are to be considered as belonging to the open country. They can be redeemed, and they are to be returned in the Jubilee.

because he shakes his fist at God and vaunts himself against the Almighty,

“ Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!”

Because you disheartened the righteous with your lies, when I had brought them no grief, and because you encouraged the wicked not to turn from their evil ways and so save their lives,

You rely on your sword, you do detestable things, and each of you defiles his neighbor’s wife. Should you then possess the land?’“ Say this to them:‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: As surely as I live, those who are left in the ruins will fall by the sword, those out in the country I will give to the wild animals to be devoured, and those in strongholds and caves will die of a plague.

As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.
