有權勢的必成為麻絮，他的作為必成為火花；二者共燃，無人撲滅。

為著我民那長荊棘和蒺藜之地，為著歡騰之城的一切歡樂之家，你們捶胸哀哭吧！因為城堡將被撇棄，喧鬧的城市將被遺棄，山岡和守望樓將成為獸穴，直到永遠，成為野驢的喜樂之地和畜群的草場。

那些造它們的、所有依靠它們的，都會像它們那樣。

到那日，人必把那些為敬拜而造的金偶像和銀偶像拋給田鼠和蝙蝠；

而偶像必全然消逝。
