使你們的祭壇荒廢，香壇破裂！我必在你們的偶像面前殺戮以色列人，

爾之祭壇必傾圮、爾之日像必毀折、我使爾被殺者仆於爾之偶像前、

Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols.

他除掉猶大各城邑的邱壇和香壇，那時國中太平。

我要毀滅你們的邱壇，拆掉你們的香壇，把你們的屍體堆在你們毫無氣息的神像上。我厭惡你們。

上帝的僕人奉耶和華的命令向祭壇喊道：「祭壇啊，祭壇啊，耶和華說，必有一子在大衛家出生，他名叫約西亞。他要在你上面殺死這些獻祭的祭司，在你上面焚燒人的骨頭。」

他們必陳屍於祭壇周圍的偶像間，就是他們在各高崗上、山頂上、綠樹下和茂密的橡樹下燒香祭拜偶像的地方，那時他們必知道我是耶和華。

使他們橫屍在你們的偶像面前，骸骨散在祭壇的四周。你們的城邑必淪為廢墟，神廟淪為荒場，祭壇荒廢，偶像被砸碎，香壇被搗毀，一切必化為烏有。

耶和華說：「那時，猶大王、首領、祭司、先知及耶路撒冷居民的骸骨都要從墳墓中被挖出來，拋散在他們昔日戀慕、供奉、追隨、求問、祭拜的日月星辰之下，無人收殮和埋葬，他們好像地上的糞便。

約西亞轉身看見山上的墳墓，就派人取出墓中的屍骨，放在那祭壇上焚燒，污瀆了那祭壇，應驗了耶和華藉祂的僕人所說的預言。約西亞問：「我看到的那墓碑是誰的？」那城裡的人告訴他：「是上帝僕人的，他曾從猶大來預言你對伯特利祭壇所做的這些事。」他說：「不要動他，不要動他的屍骨。」於是，他們沒有動那位先知和撒瑪利亞來的先知的屍骨。他拆毀以色列各王從前建在撒瑪利亞各城高崗上、惹耶和華發怒的邱壇，就像他在伯特利所做的一樣。他在祭壇上殺死那些邱壇的祭司，又在壇上焚燒死人骨頭。之後，他返回耶路撒冷。

他砸碎神柱，砍倒亞舍拉神像，用死人骨頭填滿那些地方。

眾人在他面前拆毀巴力的祭壇，他砍掉高高的香壇，又把亞舍拉神像及雕刻和鑄造的偶像磨成粉末，撒在祭拜它們之人的墳墓上，把它們祭司的骸骨放在它們的壇上焚燒。這樣，他潔淨了猶大和耶路撒冷。

他要摧毀埃及太陽神廟的神柱，燒毀埃及的神廟。』」
