The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile— it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them.

你们的罪过使你们与上帝隔绝，你们的罪恶使祂转脸不看你们，也不听你们的祈求。

你们举手祷告，我必掩面不理。即使你们祷告再多，我也不会听，因为你们双手沾满鲜血。

“各国的人经过这城时都会彼此议论说，‘为什么耶和华这样对待这座大城？’有人会回答，‘因为城里的人背弃了他们的上帝耶和华的约，供奉、祭拜其他神明。’”

因为你们毁约，我要用战祸报应你们。你们躲进各城的时候，我要在你们中间降下瘟疫，使你们落在敌人手里。

我不再掩面不顾以色列人，因为我要把我的灵浇灌在他们身上。这是主耶和华说的。’”

说，‘这堕落的子民，不忠的儿女！我要掩面不理他们，看他们的结局如何。

若不是他们的磐石卖掉他们，若不是耶和华抛弃他们，一人怎能赶散他们千人？二人怎能击溃他们万人？

耶和华啊，你为何远远站着？为何在我遭难时隐藏起来？

耶和华向他们发怒，使他们遭到掠夺者的攻击和四周仇敌的压制，毫无抵抗之力。

耶路撒冷罪大恶极，沦为污秽之物。从前尊重她的人看见她赤身裸体，就蔑视她。她只能哀叹、退避。

城中的人与迦勒底人争战只会使自己的房屋堆满死尸，因为我要在愤怒中毁灭他们。他们作恶多端，我必掩面不理这城。

那时，我要向他们发怒，离弃他们，掩面不理他们。他们将被吞灭，遭遇许多祸患和灾难，以致他们会说，‘这些祸患临到我们岂不是因为上帝不在我们中间了吗？’那时，我必掩面不理他们，因为他们祭拜别的神明，行为邪恶。

耶和华啊，你向我施恩，我便稳固如山；你掩面不理我，我就惊慌失措。

护卫长释放耶利米之前对他说：“你的上帝耶和华曾说要在这里降下灾祸，现在果然应验了。你们遭灾是因为你们得罪了耶和华，不听祂的话。

路人都拍掌嘲笑你。他们向耶路撒冷城摇头，嗤笑道：“这就是那被誉为完美无瑕、普世喜悦的城吗？”敌人都幸灾乐祸地讥讽你，他们咬牙切齿地说：“我们吞灭了她！这是我们期待已久的日子！我们终于见到这一天了！”耶和华实现了祂的计划，成就了祂很久以前的应许。祂毫不留情地毁灭了你，使你的仇敌幸灾乐祸，耀武扬威。

这殿虽然宏伟，但将来经过的人必惊讶地问，‘耶和华为什么这样对待这地方和这殿呢？’人们会回答，‘因为他们背弃曾领他们祖先离开埃及的耶和华——他们的上帝，去追随、祭拜、供奉别的神明，所以耶和华把这一切灾祸降在他们身上。’”

无人呼求你，无人向你求助，因为你掩面不理我们，让我们在自己的罪中灭亡。

虽然耶和华掩面不顾雅各家，但我仍要等候祂，冀望于祂。

他们杀人流血，祭拜偶像，玷污了那地方，所以我要把我的烈怒倾倒在他们身上，把他们驱散到列国，分散到列邦，照他们的行为报应他们。他们无论分散到何处，都使我的圣名受到亵渎，因为外族人都谈论他们说，‘这些人是耶和华的子民，却不得不离开耶和华的土地。’我顾惜我的圣名，就是以色列人在所去的列国亵渎的圣名。“因此，你要告诉以色列人，主耶和华这样说，‘以色列人啊，我要行这事并非因为你们的缘故，而是因为我圣名的缘故，就是你们在所去列国亵渎的圣名。我要使我伟大的名，就是你们在列国中所亵渎的名，彰显它的圣洁。我要当着列国的面在你们身上彰显我的圣洁，那时他们就知道我是耶和华。这是主耶和华说的。

耶和华向他们发怒，把他们交在美索不达米亚王古珊·利萨田的手中，受古珊·利萨田统治八年。

这样，你们四周其余的民族便知道我耶和华已重建毁坏之处，重新耕种荒废之地。我耶和华言出必行。’
