因着信，挪亚在还没有看见的事上，得了神的警告，就动了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉着这信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而来的义。

因此，我们必须更加密切注意所听过的道理，免得我们随流失去。那透过天使所传讲的信息既然是确定的，所有干犯和不听从的，都受了应得的报应。如果我们忽略了这么大的救恩，怎么能逃罪呢？这救恩起初是由主亲自宣讲的，后来听见的人给我们证实了。

因为他是我们的神，我们是他草场上的子民，是他手下的羊群。如果你们今天听从他的声音，

你们要瞻仰你们的祖宗亚伯拉罕，他们也要瞻仰那生你们的撒拉。亚伯拉罕独自一人的时候，我呼召了他，赐福给他，使他有很多子孙。

他们听了以后，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其余的使徒说：“弟兄们，我们应当作什么呢？”彼得说：“你们应当悔改，并且每一个人都要奉耶稣基督的名受洗，使你们的罪得赦，就必领受圣灵，那白白的恩典。这应许原是给你们和你们的儿女，以及所有在远方的人，就是给凡是我们主神召来归他的人。”彼得还用许多别的话，郑重作证，并且劝勉他们，说：“你们应当救自己脱离这弯曲的世代！”于是接受他话的人都受了洗，那一天门徒增加了约三千人。

他们说：“我们的祖宗是亚伯拉罕。”耶稣说：“你们若是亚伯拉罕的子孙，就必作亚伯拉罕所作的。

以色列王派人到那地方，就是神人曾告诉他，警告他的，他就在那里小心防范；这样不止一两次。
