沿海地帶所有的居民都因你驚駭；他們的君王都極其恐慌，面容扭曲。

那時所有沿海的君王都必由王座下來，除去朝服，脫下刺繡的衣服；披上戰兢，坐在地上，不停發抖，因你而驚駭。

他們因為害怕她所受的痛苦，就遠遠地站著，說：‘有禍了！有禍了！這大城，巴比倫，這堅固的城啊！一時之間你的審判就來到了！’

萬民聽見，就必戰抖；疼痛恐懼抓住了非利士的居民。那時，以東的族長驚惶，摩押的英雄被戰兢抓住，所有迦南的居民都膽戰心寒。恐懼戰兢臨到他們身上；因著你大能的手臂，他們像石頭一樣寂然不動；直到你的人民過去，耶和華啊，直到你買贖的人民過去。

我們本想醫治巴比倫，但它沒有治好。我們離開它，各歸本地去吧！因為它的刑罰極大，上達於天，直到雲霄。

看見了這些的人和萬國的人都要問：‘耶和華為甚麼向這地這樣行呢？為甚麼大發烈怒呢？’

那一天，必有使者從我面前乘船出去，使安逸無慮的古實人驚慌；在埃及遭難的日子，必有痛苦臨到他們。看哪！這事來到了！

如果我磨亮了我的刀劍，如果我掌握了審判權，就必向我的仇敵伸冤，必向恨我的人報應。

這殿必成為廢墟（按照《馬索拉文本》，“成為廢墟”應作“甚高”；現參照《敘利亞譯本》翻譯），經過的人都必驚訝，取笑說：耶和華為甚麼向這地和這殿這樣作啊？

松樹啊！哀號吧，因為香柏樹已經倒下，雄壯的樹木都毀壞了；巴珊的橡樹啊！哀號吧，因為茂密的樹林被砍下來了。
