But the people of Israel are not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate.

But the people of Israel do not want to listen to you. That is because they do not want to listen to me. All the Israelites are very stubborn.

But the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me: because all the house of Israel have a hard forehead and a stubborn heart.

But the people of Israel won’t listen to you any more than they listen to me! For the whole lot of them are hard hearted and stubborn.

“ From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah, until this very day— twenty-three years— the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you time and time again, but you have not obeyed.The LORD sent all his servants the prophets to you time and time again, but you have not obeyed or even paid attention.

“ But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying,‘ We don’t want this man to rule over us.’

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

This is why the showers haven’t come— why there has been no spring rain. You have the brazen look of a prostitute and refuse to be ashamed.

Remember the word I spoke to you:‘ A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they don’t know the one who sent me.If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin.The one who hates me also hates my Father.If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

For the blood she shed is still within her. She put it out on the bare rock; she didn’t pour it on the ground to cover it with dust.

“ As for the word you spoke to us in the name of the LORD, we are not going to listen to you!

LORD, don’t your eyes look for faithfulness? You have struck them, but they felt no pain. You finished them off, but they refused to accept discipline. They made their faces harder than rock, and they refused to return.

So I sent you all my servants the prophets time and time again, saying,‘ Don’t commit this detestable action that I hate.’But they did not listen or pay attention; they did not turn from their evil or stop burning incense to other gods.

But you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.“ I do not accept glory from people,but I know you— that you have no love for God within you.I have come in my Father’s name, and yet you don’t accept me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.How can you believe, since you accept glory from one another but don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.For if you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.But if you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe my words?”

Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”
