所以我必与你和你的河为敌；我必使埃及地，从密夺到色弗尼，直到古实边界，都全然荒凉废弃。人的脚必不经过那里，兽的蹄也不经过那里；四十年之久，无人居住。我必使埃及成为荒地中的荒地，四十年之久，它的城必成为废城中的废城。我必把埃及人分散到列邦，四散在各地。

在灭亡以先，必有骄傲；在跌倒以前，心中高傲。

人的骄傲必使他卑微；心里谦卑的，必得尊荣。

主耶和华这样说：“‘我必毁灭偶像，使虚无的神像从挪弗灭绝。必不再有君王从埃及地而出；我也必使惧怕临到埃及地。我必使巴忒罗荒凉，也必在琐安点起火来，又向挪施行审判。我必把我的烈怒倒在训上，就是埃及的保障，并要剪除挪的众民。我必在埃及点起火来；训必有大痛苦；挪必被攻破；挪弗必终日受难。亚文和比伯实的年轻人都必倒在刀下；这些城的人必被掳去。我在答比匿折断埃及众轭的时候，白昼就必变为黑暗；埃及所夸耀的势力必在其中止息；这城必有密云遮盖，城中的居民必被掳去。我必这样向埃及施行审判，他们就知道我是耶和华。’”

埃及必成为荒地中的荒地，它的城必成为废城中的废城。我在埃及点起火来的时候，所有帮助埃及的都必灭亡；那时他们就知道我是耶和华。

然后对他们说：‘万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：看哪！我要派人去领我的仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒来；我要在我所埋藏的这些石头上安设他的王位；他必在上面张开他的帐篷。他必来攻打埃及地；那些注定死亡的，必要死亡；那些注定被掳的，必要被掳；那些注定被刀杀的，必被刀杀。他（按照《马索拉文本》，“他”应作“我”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译）必焚烧埃及的神庙，把它们烧毁，并且掳掠；他必得着埃及地，好像牧人披上衣服那么容易；他必安然离开那里。他必打碎埃及地伯．示麦（“伯‧示麦”或译：“太阳神庙”）的神柱，放火烧毁埃及神庙。’”
