You regard yourself as wiser than Daniel and think no secret is hidden from you.

Whenever the king consulted them in any matter requiring wisdom and balanced judgment, he found them ten times more capable than any of the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.

He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.

There is a man in your kingdom who has within him the spirit of the holy gods. During Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, this man was found to have insight, understanding, and wisdom like that of the gods. Your predecessor, the king— your predecessor King Nebuchadnezzar— made him chief over all the magicians, enchanters, astrologers, and fortune tellers of Babylon.This man Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, has exceptional ability and is filled with divine knowledge and understanding. He can interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”

Solomon had answers for all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her.

Daniel replied,“ There are no wise men, enchanters, magicians, or fortune tellers who can reveal the king’s secret.But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future. Now I will tell you your dream and the visions you saw as you lay on your bed.

The Lord is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant.

Were you listening at God’s secret council? Do you have a monopoly on wisdom?

God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore.In fact, his wisdom exceeded that of all the wise men of the East and the wise men of Egypt.He was wiser than anyone else, including Ethan the Ezrahite and the sons of Mahol— Heman, Calcol, and Darda. His fame spread throughout all the surrounding nations.He composed some 3,000 proverbs and wrote 1,005 songs.

Doom is certain for Hamath, near Damascus, and for the cities of Tyre and Sidon, though they are so clever.Tyre has built a strong fortress and has made silver and gold as plentiful as dust in the streets!

The king said to Daniel,“ Truly, your God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this secret.”Then the king appointed Daniel to a high position and gave him many valuable gifts. He made Daniel ruler over the whole province of Babylon, as well as chief over all his wise men.
